USS offers the ADVOCACY Program with trained staff, as part of a national effort to locate and identify at-risk older persons, especially those who live alone and who have no formal support systems. USS Community workers are trained to recognize outward signs that indicate an older adult needs help. Once a referral is made, Advocacy staff work with the individual to stabilize their health and environment by encouraging acceptance of supportive services that include measures to live safely.
