Cancer support group at the YMCA

Peer-to-peer support program linking newly diagnosed patients and their family members with a trained volunteer who understands what it means to be diagnosed with leukemia, lymphoma or myeloma. Allows patients or their family members the opportunity to share experiences with someone who has been affected by the disease.

Provides a weekly support group offering socialization opportunities for adults who have survived strokes or other neurologic conditions resulting in communication problems. Speech-language pathologists and volunteers also participate.

Provides support and education for families who have children with Down syndrome.

Our Health & Housing Advocates can assist with access to medical care, HIV prevention & education, labs, medication, transportation, housing, access to pantries, support groups, and mental health counseling for Ohioans living with HIV.

Health Liaison serves as the link between the Hispanic community and health services. Assistance given to clients in Spanish with appointments and interpretations. The Promotora (community health liaison) teaches basic health education topics in Spanish.

Monthly education/support group offering information and support to patients with lupus.

Provides education and information about Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis, known collectively as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Offers educational seminars, printed materials, membership, and support groups for persons with IBD and their families. Provides the Information Resource Center which offers information on health issues, insurance issues, and medication issues specific to IBD (does not give medical advice). Online Support Group connects people with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis who face similar challenges. Provides a summer camp for children with Crohn's or colitis.

Monthly topics specific to young adults with cancer.

Offers a support group for those dealing with a brain injury. Provides support and further education on head injuries and/or traumatic brain injuries that will help the indvidual through recovery and life post injury.

Offers mutual support groups whose members are people who have received a transplant, their families and friends .The groups provide an opportunity for participants to share information, practical tips for daily living and encouragement about issues related to the problem.

Support Group for those diagnosed with diabetes. Topics include self management, nutrition, blood glucose monitoring, medication, exercise, lifestyle and complications. Meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of each month from 6-7 pm.

Provides a variety of educational initiatives regarding brain injuries, their prevention and support. Maintains a comprehensive website that includes local support groups. Maintains a HELPLINE which provides referrals to services needed by individuals with brain injuries and their families such as resources for coping/living with TBI and locating medical, financial, housing, and legal resources. Offers conferences with current information for those affected by brain injury. Offers Healthy Minds health and wellness online workshops for brain injury survivors and caregivers. Additional webinars for brain injury survivors, family members, caregivers, and professionals are also offered.

Offers several different groups to provide support and information to families and individuals with Down Syndrome. Groups include the Little Buddies (infant-3 years old), 3-6 year old group, several county support groups, Teens and Adult group, Dads Appreciating Down Syndrome and the Support Our Siblings group.

Services includes information about the cancers, a mentoring program, monthly support groups, and online educational and mental health and wellness seminars. Mentors help patients and caregivers understand the diagnosis, staging, treatment options, clinical trials, side effect management, research, management of the disease, and more. Mentors share their stories, tips, advice and concerns.

Offers monthly support meetings, information and case management by licensed healthcare professionals. Also provides telephone support. Offers educational materials about ALS and how to manage through the progression of the disease. Financial assistance available for those living with ALS who qualify.
