Project UPLIFT is an internet and telephone program using cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness to treat depression in people with epilepsy. Depression is one of the most common psychiatric disorders among people with epilepsy. A review of studies shows that between 32-48% of people living with epilepsy also suffer from depression, impacting quality of life and family functioning more even than seizure frequency. Project UPLIFT was created to help people better understand and cope with depression. The program is led by a Foundation staff person and a person living with epilepsy.

To become a member of this group you need to send an email to "[email protected]". Insert the word "subscribe" as the subject line of your email. You should begin receiving the daily postings, usually within a day or two after you applied for group membership. Because this is a 24/7, high-volume site, there are many messages sent daily.
