Local chapter members learn leadership skills and electoral practices by electing officers of the group. Monthly meetings are focused on topics related to disability advocacy and building self-advocacy skills. There are also monthly volunteering opportunities and regular social events to offer further connection to the community.

Ten-month program will develop informed and committed leaders by providing participants with an understanding of the critical issues affecting the community. Leadership and stewardship capabilities will be developed to assist in resolving these issues with an emphasis on Knowledge, Skills Enhancement & Trusteeship. Provides a structured after-school program with the focus of student expression, reflective leadership, community service, life and employment skills, academics, career awareness, and post-secondary education.

Offers a 2 year comprehensive residential housing program for single mothers (18 years and older) with 1 or 2 children (5 years or younger). Provides child care, housing, life skills training, counseling and the opportunity to continue their education and/or work.

Offers a 9-month program to improve leadership and interpersonal communication skills. Provides information on Medina County and its opportunities for future leadership roles. Establishes contacts with students in other schools in a non-competitive environment.

Function and Purpose: The Ohio cooperative Extension Service, an educational outreach arm of the Ohio State University-OCES, conducts research-based and interests in agriculture & natural resources, community development, family strengths, nutrition, diet and health and 4-H youth development and leadership. Service: 1. Educational information in agriculture, resource management, family life, nutrition and youth education. 2. Insect and pest identification 3. 4-H clubs and programs for youth 4. Programs and newsletters on various subject matters 5. Speakers for organizations, schools, etc. 6. Food and nutritional eduction program for limited income families - groups and individual teaching

Provides leadership training for teens to work towards creating a culture of kindness, caring, and mutual respect. Offers workshops, community events, school programs, positive role modeling, web sites and media programs. Also offers programs related to problems teens may be facing such as bullying, school violence, and other inappropriate behaviors, and will answer any related questions about these issues.

Provides information for home/property owners and businesses in or looking to locate in the service area. Works to assist property owners in maintaining property in compliance with building codes. Recruits businesses to locate in area. Assistance may include explanations of building code violations and possible remediation options for property/business owners, marketing of available business properties, and opportunities to develop leadership skills for local residents.

Offers programs to girls which teach them to relate to others with increased understanding, skill, and respect along with decision making and leadership skills instruction.

Offers group mentoring for elementary school students. Participants receive instruction in leadership, science, technology, reading, art, and math, prevention and wellness (such as: alcohol and other drug education, character education, health and nutrition), and service learning.

The Outlet is an individual, group, school and community-based mentoring and prevention services program serving males ages 10 to 18, residing in Delaware and Franklin Counties.

Provides recreational, physical fitness, arts, and structured educational programming for residents, using neighborhood school facilities. Programs may include use of gymnasium, swimming pool, track, instruction in sports, arts and crafts, games, and drill teams. Computer classes are available at one site, and computers are available to use at two sites. Participants typically help to determine programming for each site. Programs are often staffed by school personnel.

Offers a 9-month professional development leadership program that is designed to grow professional confidence, challenge participants to think differently and learn new skills alongside a network of peers from across Medina County. professional development training to further develop participant's leadership skills.

Provides college students with programs designed to equip them with skills, practical work experience and insights necessary to become successful in business, technical and/or allied health careers. Services include mentoring and leadership development activities. The goal is placement in a job following graduation, preferably with the sponsoring business. Also provides a support group for the parents of participants, who meet to assist the development of their children, to further their own professional development, and to plan fundraising activities. There is also an active alumni group.

Offers six (6) in-person or virtual sessions on leadership topics such as purpose, communication, finding solutions, team development and emotional intelligence.

Provides opportunities for community involvement for youth, through monthly training sessions covering team building, decision making, and effective communication skills, and service learning projects which the youth create and implement.

Program that educates calls members about resources of the community. Classes run from September through June.

Provides tutoring in math, reading, and language arts, as well as other character development curricula. Learning Center promotes fluency in reading and comprehension of math concepts, while developing self-determination and self-pride in their studies. Offers classes in computer use and leadership development.Youth development programs include African drumming, anger management, and martial science. Capacity of the program is 65.

This Association designs programs to broaden the base for leadership and community service in Springfield and Clark County. The central theme of the Academy is Servant-Leadership, a way of leadership developed by Robert Greenleaf. Currently, a Leadership Academy is offered once a year in the Fall. Call for specific dates as they vary year to year. They also offer a quarterly Leadership Luncheon Series.

Offers a civic leadership initiative designed to educate Akron’s youth about their government, community organizations and service-led projects. Participants will learn about Akron’s history and social issues, tour City facilities and get a behind-the scenes look at how city government works. Prepares area high school students to become positive role models, and allows them to build character and develop leadership skills through training and youth council meetings.
