Provides support to those navigating the refugee/immigration process such as helping clients with filling out and submitting documents related to their refugee status and/or immigration case (such as applying for green cards, various immigration papers, and/or travel documents). Gives advice on test preparation, what to expect during the process, and what questions to expect during interviews with government officials. Provides basic information on how to prepare for obtaining employment (filling out applications, what to wear, how to handle job interviews). Provides translation assiatnce (English to Somali). Does not give legal advice (but will refer the client to the appropriate agencies if they need it).

Assists with completion of program application paperwork including prescription drug, AARP, energy assistance, Golden Buckeye Card, and insurance through Medicare counseling.

COVID-19 Temporary Message: Country Neighbor will temporarily suspend the congregate meal service in our dining rooms and programming activities in both Andover and Orwell effective Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020 due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The offices will remain open for other services. Country Neighbor meal site attendees are being notified of the suspension and will be offered the opportunity of receiving home delivered meals during this period. All Country Neighbor staff will continue to take health and safety precautions including sanitizing and disinfecting vehicle services, washing and sanitizing hands and other measures to reduce risk of disease transmission. Provides information and assistance in completing forms to apply for various benefits and entitlements they may be eligible for. Also provides basic information about income taxes, as well as State, Federal, and local Income Tax forms. Provides blood pressure screening and one on one evaluations from the agency staff, assessing needs around food, personal care, and other urgent matters.

Provides OSHIIP certified counseling to help with Medicare issues and drug plan open enrollment. Helps seniors access services, benefits, and other programs.
