Assists older adults with minor home repairs to ensure that homes are safe and secure. Services may include: minor plumbing, electric, gas and furnace repairs, smoke alarms, handrails and grab bars in the bathroom. Also can provide and install ramps for wheelchair bound (no scooters) older adults.

Provides and administers the Community Development Block Grants. Works with the intent of assisting persons of low and moderate income, (regardless of their financial means) to live in a decent, safe, and sanitary environment by eliminating urban blight and detrimental living conditions. Provides funding for home rehabilitation. Common examples of housing services we have assisted with in the past: roofing and gutters, porches and stairs, water heaters, furnaces, exterior doors, and electric upgrades. The financial limit for an emergency rehab project is $22,500.

Provides assistance with small home repair or maintenance to seniors and individuals with disabilities residing within Christ's Loving Hands service area., including installing hand rails, painting small areas, changing lightbulbs, mowing the lawn, raking leaves, trimming bushes, and cleaning gutters.

Provides assistance with services designed to help individuals age in place with dignity, mostly helping complete projects around the home and property. Service may include minor painting, repairs, garage cleanouts, window washing and more. Service is provided by volunteers.

Provides one time emergency heating assistance to income-eligible households that are disconnected, threatened with disconnection, need to re-connect service that has been shut off, need to transfer or establish new service, or have less than a 25% supply of bulk fuel. Maximum amount of assistance is $175 for regulated utilities, $450 for wood and coal, $750 for unregulated utilities, $900 for bulk fuel or up to $1500 for furnace repair. Customers can also receive combined benefits for any of the above. The utility company will delay the disconnection until five business days after the confirmed appointment.

Provides vouchers to assist with past due house/apartment/mobile home lot rent payments, mortgage payment (will help with first month's rent but not security deposits - $1,000 maximum per 12 month period); utility bill payment assistance (including gas, electric, bulk fuel water - $500 maximum per 12 month period). May also assist with the purchase or repair of major appliances ($750 maximum per calendar year). May assist with the purchase of bed frame, box springs, mattress, cribs and child beds ($500 maximum in 12 month period). Provides up to $2000 in moving expenses in certain cases (once per lifetime). In some cases may be able to help with home repair services (generally, only enough to cover a small repair). May consider assisting with other housing related needs at the discretion of the agency. Does not assist with PIPP Plus payments.

The Winter Crisis program runs from November 1st through March 31st. To assist individuals having trouble paying their gas or electric bill if that is their heating source, a one time payment of up to $175 for regulated gas/electric or $750 for unregulated utility customers. And $900 for bulk fuel, and $550.00 for coal or wood assistance and Furnace Repair up to $500.00. Clients will be processed for all available programs, including HEAP, PIPP and Winter Crisis at each appointment.
