Provides yard maintenance, including flower-planting, clearing weeds and raking leaves. Lawn mowing may be provided if the resident provides a lawnmower and fuel. Snow removal is also available. Snow shovels are provided. May be able to work on other tasks such as hanging pictures and flags and putting up holiday trees and tree lights. May be able to provide porch painting (ground-level only) and exterior power-washing.
The Winter Crisis program runs from November 1st through March 31st. To assist individuals having trouble paying their gas or electric bill if that is there heating source, a one time payment of up to $175 for regulated gas/electric or $750 for unregulated utility customers. And $900 for bulk fuel, and $550.00 for coal or wood assistance and Furnace Repair up to $500.00. Clients will be processed for all available programs, including HEAP, PIPP and Winter Crisis at each appointment.

Provides financial assistance for minor home repair projects to low-income seniors and individuals who are permanently physically disabled. Eligible work may include, but not be limited to: electrical (replace fuse or light bulb, repair/replace a switch, repair/replace frayed cords/plugs, etc.); plumbing (repair/replace toilets and sinks, leaking faucets, drain and supply lines, vent pipes and sump pumps, etc.); masonry (repair sidewalks, porch floor and steps; apply waterproofing compound to basement walls; minor tuck-pointing, etc.); carpentry/maintenance (repair doors, jambs, frames, hinges, window frames, kitchen cabinets, decking, floors, porches, holes in walls; install glass; install smoke detectors; install deadbolt locks; etc.); and heating and air conditioning (repair/replace furnace and air conditioner).

Provides one-time emergency home repair assistance (such as furnace repair/replacement) for low-income homeowners to address situations that make dwellings substandard, uninhabitable or unsafe.
PRC funds may be able to provide assistance to replace or repair hot water heaters. Call for more information about specific guidelines and eligibility requirements.
Chores services are available to eligible clients, and may include simple household repairs, such as installing and removing screen and storm doors and windows, seasonal deep cleaning, limited seasonal yard cleanup, limited inside and outside painting, installation of smoke alarms, and more.

Winter: Provides eligible Ohioans assistance with monthly heating payments (gas and/or electric) if heating source is disconnected or threatened with disconnection, need to establish a new connection, transfer fee payments, or have 25% or less bulk fuel or wood supply remaining. Assistance may also be available for fuel tank placement/testing and furnace repair. Provides assistance once per heating season. *Runs November 1 to March 31. *Eligible households can receive up to $175 if they are a customer of a regulated utility or up to $750 if a customer of unregulated utilities.

Provides one time emergency heating assistance to income-eligible households that are disconnected, threatened with disconnection, need to re-connect service that has been shut off, need to transfer or establish new service, or have less than a 25% supply of bulk fuel. Maximum amount of assistance is $175 for regulated utilities, $450 for wood and coal, $750 for unregulated utilities, $900 for bulk fuel or up to $1500 for furnace repair. Customers can also receive combined benefits for any of the above. The utility company will delay the disconnection until five business days after the confirmed appointment.

Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio is accepting Zanesville applicants for the CDBG Paint Program. The program provides up to $3,500 in funding to existing homeowners to assist with repainting the exterior of their own home. Grants will be based on need. Applicants must meet income guidelines, have homeowner’s insurance, have property taxes paid in full and be free of foreclosure.

Provides a small chore service. Will provide minor repairs (painting, replacing door knobs, railings, fixing minor plumbing issues, etc.). Also helps with yard chores (grass cutting, yard raking), general household maintenance (changing furnace filters and light bulbs, cleaning spouting, caulking windows, etc.) and heavy cleaning chores (carpet shampooing, washing windows, curtains, garages, walls, etc.). In addition, helps with essential errand running: grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, buying stamps, mailing packages, etc.
