Winter Crisis Program (GAS/ELECTRIC/HEATING FUEL) | Miami Valley Community Action Partnership - Greene County

The Winter Crisis program runs from November 1 through March 31 extended until May 1, 2020 to assist individuals having trouble paying their gas or electric bill if that is there heating source, a one time payment of up to $175 for regulated gas or electric if this is your source of heat or $750 for unregulated utility customers. And $900 for bulk fuel, and $550 for coal or wood assistance and Furnace Repair up to $500.00 Clients will be processed for all available programs, including HEAP, PIPP and Winter Crisis at each appointment. Home Repairs | Lake-Geauga Habitat For Humanity

Assists low to moderate income homeowners with paying for repairs and rehabilitation on their homes. Depending on eligibility and the availability of funding, agency may be able to offer this program at no cost to the homeowner (usually if they are age 65 or older or a veteran). In some instances, a zero-interest loan with an affordable repayment schedule may be offered as well. Examples of the types of work that the program can help with are: painting, siding, roofing, doors, steps, wheelchair ramps, sub floors, carpeting, etc. Does not help with foundation. Most work is provided by volunteers, however some work may be provided by contractors. This is not an emergency service; the process can take 12-24 months (however, smaller jobs may be completed sooner).

Provides a grant between $ 2,500-$5,500 to City of Lakewood homeowners and residents for exterior paint, supplies and labor to paint their home. Participants will be educated on lead safety issues. Property will be inspected by the agency (not a Building Dept. inspection) prior to approval, after prep work for the painting is done, and after work is completed. Amount of grant will be limited to amount of painting required as well as income guidelines.

Partnership of community and church groups from Richland County and throughout the US to do housing repair for people in need. Does NOT do roofing repairs or major foundation work. Provides various water repairs. For the main water line, will repair or make service line replacements. In the home, will repair or replace water tanks in addition to repairing plumbing fixtures such as leaking faucets, broken toilets (installation of water saver toilet in the event of non-repairable toilet). Also, repair/correction of frozen water lines and k-line replacements. When available, may install water conservation kit to help reduce water usage.

Winter Crisis Program | Breathing Association

Provides one time emergency heating assistance to income-eligible households that are disconnected, threatened with disconnection, need to re-connect service that has been shut off, need to transfer or establish new service, or have less than a 25% supply of bulk fuel. Maximum amount of assistance is $175 for regulated utilities, $450 for wood and coal, $750 for unregulated utilities, $900 for bulk fuel or up to $1500 for furnace repair. Customers can also receive combined benefits for any of the above. The utility company will delay the disconnection until five business days after the confirmed appointment.

The PRC program in Ohio helps families overcome immediate barriers to achieving or maintaining self-sufficiency. The program provides benefits and services to families who are in need of help with essential support to become self-sufficient. The PRC Program is designed to: - Prevent families from having to apply for OWF cash assistance when a crisis arises; - Help families retain employment by enhancing job skills , overcoming barriers and providing short-term assistance or wage supplementation if necessary. - Provide for contingent needs by helping families with nonrecurring urgent problems that could, if left unattended, result in families needing long-term public assistance. - Support families receiving OWF with services to enable them to become self-sufficient. Examples of short-term assistance through PRC include: - Shelter and utility assistance - Transportation assistance - Employment Related Supportive Services.

Aspire Ministries Connection Center | Aspire Ministries

Aspire Ministries maintains a current list of available church ministries, community resources and agencies that may be able to help anyone in their current situation. Call the Aspire Ministries Connection Center to talk with a volunteer or schedule an appointment to come in to work with someone who can help determine which agencies may be of help. 1. Receive request for help. Requests are received either directly from a person in need or the person in need is referred to the Aspire Ministries office by a network church or local agency. 2. Assess the need. Specially trained Aspire Ministries volunteers or staff screen the request for extent of need and legitimacy, and discover any deeper issues fueling the crisis. 3. Provide help. The request is referred to the most appropriate Aspire Ministries partner church, agency, or organization. Volunteers swing into action, providing whatever resources or outreach programs are appropriate to address the need(s). 4. Follow up. Volunteers follow up to ensure the need was met and to offer prayer and spiritual support from churches. Aspire Ministries offers assistance to anyone in Marion County who is in need.
