The Family and Consumer Sciences program in Clark County strives to build strong families through educational programming. Programs focus on nutrition and lifestyle choices from infancy through retirement; managing time, money, and other resources; community health and environmental concerns; and managing the multiple roles of work and family life. These issues are addressed through programs offered in the community, newsletters offering information on these specific issues, and information offered via new technologies, such as the website.

Offers family and consumer sciences program targets the following issues. Child Care, family life, parenting, adult development, nutrition, food safety, cooking classes, meal planning, money management, jobs and families, balancing work and family and health issues, educational programs and information can be provided on all of the target issues.

All Franklin County residents needing assistance with navigating social service programs.

Provides instruction that deals with the basic activities of homemaking including caring for and managing children; planning, shopping for and preparing nutritious meals; maintaining a clean and safe living environment; and other in-home responsibilities.

Provides education on family and home life. Topics include child development, parenting, nutrition, food safety and money management.

Provides financial education to agencies, organizations, individuals, and families. Offers programs in basic budgeting; credit and debt management; consumer issues and general money management. Neighborhood Lifelines: Foreclosure Prevention presentations are available to existing organizations/churches/neighborhood groups to provide basic information to help them help reach out to others in the community.

Helps widows/widowers, divorcees, single parents, and people who have never held a job or who have never worked very long with personal development, career exploration, employability skills, resource management, and family management.

Provides recreational classes and activities, such as dancing, scrapbooking and homemaker instruction.
