Provide senior adults with daily recreational activities, educational events, lunch, socialization, and fitness programs. Supportive services division for Trumbull’s retired and elderly population provides social work and counseling, prescription assistance and Medicaid/Medicare counsel, emergency assistance program, and free income tax assistance through AARP during the months of February through April each year. Provides telephone calls to check on the welfare of eligible individuals. If no answer, emergency contact will be called, and if necessary a car will be sent to the resident's address with possible entry to the home if injury is suspected. Prevention Officer also calls each senior periodically to visit, and encourages them to call her if they are afraid.
Provides a number of programs designed to provide safety and awareness to the community. Includes a neighborhood watch, child safety seat check, gun locks and vacation house checks.

This FREE telephone and email-based care-coaching program assists and supports adults at risk for dementia, including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their family and friend caregivers, or other supports. Care Consultants will help you: • Prioritize concerns using a simple step-by-step plan based on your needs. • Learn about and connect to health and community services. • Keep yourself and your loved one safe. • Communicate with your loved one and family and friends about care and managing difficult behaviors. • Get more family and friends, or supporters, to help.
Phones persons 60 and older who live alone to check on their well-being. Alerts a contact person or the police if the client does not answer.
Provides a telephone monitoring service for seniors ages 60 and over. Participants are expected to call the police department daily by 10:00am or an officer will check the premises. Will also contact those who have medical problems or other needs who in the event of a power outage may require special assistance.

Offers a computerized telephone reassurance program for older adults and others who live alone. Each day at a designated time a call is made to the client. If the client does not answer the phone, a contact person is notified or if needed police or emergency personnel will go to the client's home.
Provides an automated phone call prompting the party on the other line to say hello, and press a button when prompted to ensure they are ok at that time of the call. This can be a daily phone call.
Contacts elderly individuals by telephone on a regular basis to ensure their good health and safety, and to reassure them that help is available if and when they need it.
