Provides a peer support program to match adults coping with severe mental illness with a community volunteer for friendship and social skill building. Provided through a partnership with Compeer International. Opportunties in the program may include: - One-to-One Friendship Program: Offers face-to-face contact with adult volunteer. - Compeer Calling: Provides telephone support (may be offered in addition to face-to-face support). - Compeer Community: Offers group events and celebrations among Compeers to strengthen social skills. - Peer-to-Peer: Matches clients with one another in supportive, one-on-one friendships. - Skillbuilders Program: Promotes social ties through structured life skills training.

Provides visitors to call on people who are hospitalized or in another institutional setting or who are socially isolated with the objective of brightening their day and helping them to maintain contact with the outside world by reading, talking, listening, writing letters, or performing other similar tasks.

Offers a self-directed peer group for adults age 60+. Offers additional support and services including special interest groups/programs (e.g. crafts), social outings, workshops/presentations, rent/utility assistance and volunteer opportunities. Group transportation to grocery store is available from select locations.

This program addresses two specific issues within the senior population in Franklin County: 1) Loneliness and isolation and 2) underuse of resources active seniors have to give. The program engages two different populations of seniors: home-bound seniors and active, low-income seniors. Senior Companions, all of whom qualify as low-income, receive stipends and travel reimbursement to visit home-bound seniors for 15+ hours a week. They provide needed socialization and non-medical assistance so clients can remain independent in their homes. The program helps both groups stay connected and retain their independence.

Provides seniors who are lonely and/or isolated with a regular visitor and/or telephone call.

Provides outreach services which include transportation to medical appointments; home visiting; assistance with tax and insurance forms and applications. Also a site for the Golden Buckeye program.

Helps reduce social isolation for older adults by arranging for a "buddy" to telephone them on a regular basis to listen, talk, and help them maintain contact with the outside world. Accepting applications for callers and those who would like to receive calls.

Provides older adults with a non-medical companion for socialization, phone reassurance, medication reminders, assistance with daily activities, and may include transportation depending on volunteer. Services are provided by individuals serving as an AmeriCorps Senior Program volunteer.

Matches seniors with a volunteer for a friendly chat twice a week. Time of call is determined by volunteer and client.

Chat Pals' mission is to promote friendship through developing caring connections with others. Provides a telephone-based or video-based (Facetime or Zoom) program designed to be a support system, providing emotional support and companionship to people in the community. The purpose of the program is to bring people together based on like-minded interests and experiences so that a friendship can be formed remotely. By developing friendships, it will combat the negative effects of social isolation and loneliness.

Outreach services provide older adults with the assistance needed to access the human services system and provide linkage between client and needed services. This service includes management of a home delivered meal program, telassurance, public benefits assistance, housing placement assistance, friendly visiting, and assessments

Pairs volunteers with children to provide socialization, life building skills and friendship. Visits take place either weekly or twice a month, depending on the family's interest.

Services for adults age 62 and older include transportation, friendly visits, Kroger click list and outings.

Provides a volunteer support group for prostate cancer patients.

Provides home visits to those who are homebound or in nursing homes or hospitals.

Offers friendly visiting to residents of Greene County who are over age 50. Volunteers or staff members monitor the emotional and physical state of the client and encourage social interaction.

Provides inhome companionship to seniors 55+ older who simply need a friend and to combat senior isolation

Help Me Grow Home Visiting is Ohio's program for expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers. The program provides health and developmental services so that children start school healthy and ready to learn. Help Me Grow works with parents to support young children's development. Home Visitors provide on-going home visits in the home; focus on improving prenatal health habits and infant care giving skills; provide information on child's health, growth, education and development through the Parents As Teachers program; provide screenings for health, hearing, vision and development; connect families with community resources and services. Affiliated with the evidence-based home visiting model Parents As Teachers. Services include - Developmental Screening - Information on parenting tips - Assistance in developing and reaching family goals - Home Visits to help each child stay "on the road" to healthy growth and development - Service Coordination - professional nurses, teachers, or other qualified staff who share their knowledge about available resources, assist families in connecting with needed services, coordinate services to help families meet their needs and goals. Help Me Grow is - Family-friendly and family centered - Supportive and respectful of each family's needs and preferences - Individualized to meet the needs of each child and family.

Provides visitation to patients in need of support by someone who has previously undergone the same type of ostomy surgery.

Provides services for older adults, specializing in working with highly reluctant or confused persons. Services include assessments, counseling, case management and home-based services (house cleaning, organizing appointments). Provides advocacy when necessary for clients.

Provides outreach in the home, friendly visiting, and telephone reassurance for seniors.

Provides services to help meet the needs of seniors in the community. Attends community events and contacts seniors in Franklin County to inform them of available services at FCOA.

First Tuesday Tea is an informal forum that allows seniors to actively engage with visual art, music, movement, literary interests, as well as social and current issues, while sipping a hot cup of tea.

Provides a variety of supportive social services/ health screenings for Senior adults.

Staff and volunteers make telephone contact with clients on a daily, weekly, or biweekly basis just to talk about the news and lift their spirits. The calls are intended to check the well-being of older adults and provide connection over the phone.
