MAHS does its best to place animals it cares for into new and loving forever homes. Adoption program consists of completing a short adoption application, having a manager go over the application, and then agreeing to our contract. Below are a few requirements of our adoption contract: - All animals must be spayed and/or neutered. - Adopters must be at least 18 years of age. - Renters must show permission from landlord to own pets. - Animals are to be treated humanely and all state laws followed.

Strives to provide humane animal control through law enforcement, compassion towards animals and promotion of responsible pet ownership. Offers animals for adoption. Attempts to locate owners of impounded animals using any identifying information found on its collar or tag.
Animal adoptions from the LCAS feature dog registration, vaccinations for DPP and bordetella, microchip implant and a visit to a veterinarian for booster vaccinations, a rabies shot, and spay or neutering for $125. The shelter also has adopted a new policy regarding popular dogs that a number of people want to adopt. While a stray dog is being held during the mandatory legal holding period at the shelter, interested people may place a sealed bid on the canine. The bid must be at least $1 over the regular adoption cost. Bids will remain sealed until 8am the first day the dog is available for adoption with it going to the highest bidder. Any additional funds generated from the bid will be used for medical expenses for shelter dogs.
Works to find homes for unwanted pets. SPOT is the only rescue group that takes dogs from the Morgan County pound. SPOT takes all the adoptable dogs and places them in foster homes. We have dozens of animals currently in foster care in our network of individuals' homes. All of SPOT's foster animals are checked by a vet, receive all appropriate vaccinations, are spayed or neutered, and have received any other necessary medical care. We place our animals in homes all over the country through our listings on Petfinder.com. We also get quite a few adopted locally through word-of-mouth, flyers, and participation in adoption events.
Offers cats, dogs, and other companion animals for adoption. Provides each adoptable animal to be sent home spayed or neutered and up-to-date on age appropriate vaccines. Arranges all animals to be sent home with food, coupons, and microchipped for identification purposes.

Offers a no kill and no-time-limit shelter for animals. Rescues the lives of animals in imminent danger of euthanasia at local animal control facilities. Owner surrenders and strays are accepted when space is available. Animals available for adoption into appropriate homes.
Available dogs include those who have been lost, discarded, abandoned, injured or neglected. Most are lost dogs who have not been reclaimed by their original owners. All dogs available for adoption have already been spayed or neutered, micro chipped and fully vaccinated.

Offers animals for adoption. Both dogs and cats are available at the shelter. At the time of adoption, an interview will determine if the potential owner is a good match for the chosen pet. In addition to the pre-adoption interview.
Provides animal adoption services. Applicants must allow CAHS the option to conduct a home visit to confirm that your home will be a good environment for a new pet. We do not require a home visit for all adopters. We do home visits in extremely rare cases such as if the dog or cat requires unique medical care or if the dog has unique behavioral issues.
Offer protective services to the citizens of Mahoning County by patrolling, seizing, and impounding dogs running at large. Insure dogs kept within Mahoning County are licensed, issue court citations for violations. Promote pet adoption from the shelter and provide information regarding responsible pet ownership, including rabies vaccination and altering.
