Offers childbirth and parenting classes which may include the following topics: breastfeeding, grandparenting, newborn care, cesarean birth, siblings, and caring for substance-exposed infants.

Offers a course for mothers and partners which covers many topics which are part of the birth process - labor, pain management, normal new baby behavior, new baby care, postpartum depression, etc. Each night offers a component of Lamaze technique to assist the mother. Participants receive a wealth of printed materials. Each five-week class series includes a tour of the birthing center, including a look at the birthing suites and postpartum unit. (even if they will not deliver at Metro). Participants in this course are also eligible to have the assistance of a doula (a skilled woman to assist the mother at the birth).
