The goals of the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Division are to eliminate health disparities, improve birth outcomes, and improve the health status of Licking County’s women, infants, children, youth and families. MCH Priorities: - Decreasing childhood obesity, reducing food insecurity, and supporting breastfeeding; - Decreasing infant mortality by ensuring infants have a safe sleep environment and car safety seats; - Increasing parenting skills, promoting early childhood development and school readiness; - Providing referrals to safety net services assure that the health needs of women and children are met; - Addressing social determinants of health; - Free transportation to medical appointments - LCHD has partnered with Uber to help women get a free ride to their next medical appointment. During the summer also provides a one-time $15 supplemental voucher to each client for fruits and vegetables from selected local growers (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program) - these are available while supplies last. Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition.

Preparation for parenthood, a department of the Center for Women's Health, offers a variety of programs and classes to help you prepare for your new baby. Classes include: Childbirth Refresher, classes for dads only, baby care, breastfeeding, infant massage, Infant safety and CPR (FOR EXPECTING MOTHERS ONLY), moms in motion.

Breastfeeding classes are offered to anyone interested in learning more about breastfeeding. Attendees are encouraged to bring a support person(s) with them. A Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) is present at each session.

Provides comprehensive home visiting services in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams counties. This service is for pregnant women and families with children up to age 3 who are income eligible.

Provides gynecology, obstetrics, family planning, mammograms, bone density tests, and confidential pregnancy testing (blood test). Offers several different classes for expecting parents or for those taking care of a baby. Also offers classes for new dads, new grandparents, new parents Lamaze (prepared childbirth), and siblings, as well as other classes that focus on topics such as early pregnancy, breastfeeding, childbirth for teens, and a childbirth refresher.

Provides wrap around pregnancy services to women and families with children under the age of two. Other services available, but not limited to accessing supplies (cribs, diapers, breastfeeding pumps), securing housing information and connecting to family and individual support program
