Breastfeeding Support Programs | St Elizabeth Healthcare

Offers free classes for expectant parents or new mothers that provide information and instruction concerning appropriate techniques for nursing an infant. Classes are taught by a certified Lactation Consultant/Counselor.

Wic (WOMEN, INFANTS, CHILDREN) | Lake County General Health District

Provides supplemental food vouchers, nutrition education, counseling, support and referral services to eligible women, children, fathers, and kinship caregivers. Nursing mothers are provided with information and education on breastfeeding. Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition and breastfeeding. During the summer, also provides a supplemental voucher to each client for fruits and vegetables from selected local growers (Farmers' Market Nutrition Program) - these are available while supplies last. Also offers child car safety seats at a reduced price to those who are eligible for this program. Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition and breastfeeding.

Offers several different classes for expecting parents or for those taking care of a baby. Also offers classes for new dads, new grandparents, new parents Lamaze (prepared childbirth), and siblings, as well as other classes that focus on topics such as early pregnancy, breastfeeding, childbirth for teens, and a childbirth refresher.

Provides two lactation centers staffed with certified lactation consultants. Answers questions about breastfeeding, offers individualized consultations and breastfeeding education and support. Offers electric breast pumps for sale or rent and for eligible persons, offers recondition breast pumps for a lower cost. Also, offers a variety of other products for pregnancy and breastfeeding.
