Childbirth information and education are available, in addition to a parenting education program.
Provides gynecology, obstetrics, family planning, mammograms, bone density tests, and confidential pregnancy testing (blood test). Offers several different classes for expecting parents or for those taking care of a baby. Also offers classes for new dads, new grandparents, new parents Lamaze (prepared childbirth), and siblings, as well as other classes that focus on topics such as early pregnancy, breastfeeding, childbirth for teens, and a childbirth refresher.

Provides a one session class for children who are about to have a new sibling. Includes stories and visual materials (a short video) about new babies, tours of the mother and baby unit, how to handle (gently hold) and interact with a new baby, coloring and treats.
Provides a variety of services that cover women's health concerns, including screening for bone density (osteoporosis), breast exams, pap smears, obstetrics/gynecological services, pregnancy testing, birth control, midwifery, and prenatal care. Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted diseases is also offered.

Also offers speakers who discuss the program and the value of good nutrition.

The childbirth classes are taught virtually by a member of the Mary Rutan Hospital Family Birth Center nursing staff, and provides education and resources for new parents and their coaches to better prepare them for childbirth.

COVID-19 Temporary Message: Ashtabula WIC is open and providing services. Appointments are done in the parking lot and the physical presence requirement has been waived so babies, children, prenatal and postpartum women do not need to be present. They are able to serve new clients who have experienced either a reduction in their income or loss of employment. If you are pregnant, postpartum, or have a child under the age of 5 and are either unemployed or receiving less income due to COVID-19, you now may qualify. Call WIC to see if you qualify.

Provides a drop-off location for donated breastmilk. Donation is stored in a freezer at -21 degrees, then shipped to Columbus to be pasteurized and distributed.

Childcare and $5 Kroger gift card at each meeting. Transportation provided if needed.
