Meets the needs of those unprepared for pregnancy with pregnancy testing, limited ultrasound, mentoring, parenting education, baby furniture, and clothing.

Provides prenatal and postnatal services utilizing an Earn While You Learn pregnancy and parenting education program. Baby items including cribs, car seats, diapers, clothing, etc are earned as lessons are completed. Group classes on safe sleep, preventing child sexual abuse, and shaken baby syndrome are also offered. Staff are certified as child passenger safety technicians and can check for proper installation of car seats.

Provides pregnancy options counseling services from a pro-life perspective that encourages taking the pregnancy to term. A pregnancy test, ultrasound, community referrals, and other support are offered as part of the options counseling.

Family and Senior Services overview of programs supporting families: Counseling: One-in-five Americans struggle with diagnosed mental health issues. Yet, mental illness is still stigmatized in our society. When mental health and negative stigmas are paired with poverty and hardship, the most vulnerable among us may have the most difficulty accessing vital mental health resources. CSS provides high-quality mental healthcare to low-income clients who are school age and older, because we believe income should not be a barrier to accessing mental healthcare. We employ licensed social workers and our counseling program is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and certified by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Maternal Counseling: CSS’ Maternal Counseling program allows our licensed social workers to provide clinical counseling to mothers in their homes. This is essential for helping low-income mothers—many of whom experience pregnancy- or parenting-related stressors such as postpartum depression, relationship problems, isolation, or a lack of support. We have seen through our experience with this population that new mothers often have multiple barriers to care and lack the resources they need to raise their children in safe, nurturing environments. We are one of the only agencies that visits these mothers in their homes to remove barriers to care, like finding childcare and transporting children. We are committed to giving low-income mothers the support they need to keep themselves and their children healthy. Case Management: CSS’ case manager is available to help clients tackle the multitude of barriers to economic self-sufficiency and overall family well-being. Our case manager can help clients acquire affordable housing, learn how to manage their finances, find childcare, find jobs, access benefits and community resources, and more. Our case manager acts as an advocate and support for clients who lack strong support systems. Our Lady of Guadalupe Center: Through Our Lady of Guadalupe Center, CSS works to reduce poverty by addressing its root causes within the immigrant Hispanic community concentrated on the west side of Columbus. This population is growing and experiences disproportionate poverty. In 2017, CSS expanded the Guadalupe Center facility, which allows us to serve more people. In addition to meeting their emergency needs, we now offer holistic case management and wrap-around services which will transform our clients’ capacity to become self-sufficient Pathways to Hope (Pathways): CSS’ Pathways to Hope program addresses homelessness and domestic violence in the Columbus, Ohio area. Pathways steps in to empower survivors of domestic violence with children by offering two years of case management. By supporting survivors and their children as they leave the homeless shelter, we help them rebuild their lives in safe homes, with stable incomes and a network of healthy, supportive relationships. Stay the Course™: CSS will place three case managers at Columbus State Community College starting in August 2019 to replicate Catholic Charities of Fort Worth’s trademarked Stay the Course™ program. Case managers will help low-income students persist in school and ultimately graduate, equipping them with credentials that increase earning power. The Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame will evaluate the program’s results. St. Francis Center: The St. Francis Center serves Portsmouth, Ohio as a one-stop community center providing families hot meals, clothing and household items, food, and emergency assistance. The Center serves as hope and healing for the community. Offers Pro-Choice pregnancy options counseling services to women. Provides confidential care and support while empowering clients to make confident, informed decisions about their life. Offers a safe non-judgmental space for you clients discuss their thoughts and feelings with a trained professional. Services are available regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs or cultural background.

Provides abortion options, emergency contraception, free urine pregnancy testing, information and support.

Provides pregnancy consultation, testing and ultrasounds for women facing unplanned pregnancy. Also provides STD testing and treatment.

Offers confidential emotional support for women who are distressed by an unplanned pregnancy. Provides referrals for medical, legal, educational, and housing needs. Provides information on prenatal development, job search/career development, adoption, childbirth, child care options, and child safety issues.

Provides programs that help people who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy resolve any social or personal problems that have arisen as a result of their pregnancy or the prospect of parenthood, and help them understand their conflicting emotions, put their feelings in perspective, evaluate their options, and make a decision that is right for them.

Provide birth certificates for anyone born in Ohio and death certificates for Mahoning County residents; group home, rest home and nursing home inspections and licensure program; food and sanitary inspections; information on AIDS and free distribution on safer sex products; well child/infant immunizations and adult immunizations; reproductive health and wellness clinic; sexually transmitted infection clinic; rodent and mosquito control program.

Provides free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, options counseling, resource connection, and limited STD testing.

Provides women's and men's health services such as birth control, gynecology, breast examinations, pap smears and mammograms for women and testicular exams and prostate exams and tests for men. Offers obstetric and pregnancy services such as midwifery, obstetrics, prenatal care, pregnancy testing, pregnancy counseling, genetic counseling, and teen family planning programs. Also offers obstetric clients supportive services such as counseling, childbirth and breastfeeding education, and information and referral services.

Planned Parenthood Southwest Ohio (PPSWO) strengthens our community by preventing unintended pregnancy and empowering individuals with the knowledge, opportunity, and freedom to make private decisions about their reproductive and sexual health. PPSWO provides family planning services, this includes services for birth control, STD testing and treatment, annual and breast exams, pregnancy test and options counseling, UTI, Trich, yeast and bacterial vaginosis testing and treatment, PEP and PREP testing and prescriptions as well as comprehensive sex education training.

Offers support to men who desire to grow with respect to fathering. Topics include: pregnancy/childbirth, healthy relationships, family dynamics, and infant care.

Experiencing pregnancy symptoms, such as a missed period, doesn’t necessarily mean you are pregnant. PDHC provides pregnancy testing at no cost to you.

In local communities across the country, we're helping moms take charge of their health, and supporting families when something goes wrong. The March of Dimes also acts globally: sharing best practices in perinatal health and helping improve birth outcomes where the needs are the most urgent.
