Serves as a liaison between charitable, education, health care and non-profit organizations in Columbiana County and residents age 55 and older who wish to volunteer. Participants are matched with agencies based on their skills, interests and geographic location. Telefriend provides peer telephone reassurance calls.

Provides up to $100 in financial assistance to purchase necessary prescription drugs for people who would be in an emergency situation without assistance. Assistance does not cover narcotics.

The support group meets in Mercy Memorial Hospital's main floor conference room, 904 Scioto St.,Urbana. Can sometimes help with co-pays and prosthetics related to breast cancer.

Provides assistance navigating RxAssist, a database of prescription expense assistance programs.

Medication Assistance Program is available for Muskingum County residents, who have a respiratory diagnosis. The clinic will assist with the purchase of TB and respiratory medications for those who qualify for our financial assistance program. We can also supplement other programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance co-pays. Will also assist with applications for pharmaceutical companies' assistance programs. For non-respiratory medications, nurses will make arrangements for you to meet with other local agencies who may provide that service.

Walk in assistance for the homeless. Can provide a nights lodging at a local motel for the homeless. Can also assist with low cost medications. For those just starting a job and needing special shoes (steel toed or non skid) they can help with purchase of the shoes. Help in replacing identification and prescription assistance.

Muskingum Valley Health Centers operate as Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC). As an FQHC, we are able to provide our patients with significant savings, estimated to be 20% to 40%, on the cost of pharmaceuticals. Provides financial support such as co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and medical insurance premiums to insured individuals, including Medicare Part D beneficiaries, who must financially and medically qualify to access pharmaceutical and other co-payment assistance. The program offers personal service to all individuals through the use of call counselors who will personally guide individuals through the enrollment process.

Salvation Army has limited assistance, when funds are available, for emergency only prescriptions, after all other resources have been exhausted.

Offers assistance to individuals living with Sickle Cell Disease to assist with medications and other services.

Assists with completion of program application paperwork including prescription drug, AARP, energy assistance, Golden Buckeye Card, and insurance through Medicare counseling.

COVID-19 Temporary Message: Country Neighbor will temporarily suspend the congregate meal service in our dining rooms and programming activities in both Andover and Orwell effective Monday, March 16, 2020 through Friday, April 3, 2020 due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic. The offices will remain open for other services. Country Neighbor meal site attendees are being notified of the suspension and will be offered the opportunity of receiving home delivered meals during this period. Provide senior adults with daily recreational activities, educational events, lunch, socialization, and fitness programs. Supportive services division for Trumbull’s retired and elderly population provides social work and counseling, prescription assistance and Medicaid/Medicare counsel, emergency assistance program, and free income tax assistance through AARP during the months of February through April each year.
