Provides Medicare beneficiaries with free, objective health insurance information, one-on-one counseling, and educates consumers about Medicare, Medicare prescription drug coverage (Part D), Medicare Advantage options, Medicare supplement insurance.
Offers basic information on Medicare to interested individuals and caretakers. Offers individual one-on-one appointments and group seminars.
Provides health insurance program that provides hospital and medical insurance for individuals age 65 and older, disabled individuals younger than age 65 who have been entitled to Social Security disability benefits for at least 24 months, and insured workers and their dependents who need dialysis or a kidney transplant may qualify. -Persons who apply for Social Security benefits at age 65 are automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A (free hospital insurance). They may choose to sign up for Medicare Part B (medical insurance). A monthly premium for Part B is deducted from the monthly benefit check, unless low income qualifies the person to Qualified Medicare Beneficiary or Specified Low-Income Medicare Beneficiary aid. -$600 credit for prescription assistance, in the form of a debit card, is available to income-eligible persons with Medicare Part A and/or B who don't have other outpatient prescription drug coverage. -Medicare informational handbook available. -24-hour helpline for information on health plans, prescription drug programs, nursing homes, and Medicare physician referral.

Offers an information line to help people understand, compare and sign-up for the Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Benefit and the Low Income Subsidy. Works with beneficiaries to resolve Medicare Part D problems. Also helps those who are already receiving Medicare Part D benefits and want to select a different plan for the next calendar year. Also offers benefits screening for other government programs through Benefits Check-up.

Provides Certified Application Counselors who connects consumers to Medicare and Medicaid and facilitates enrollment in both programs.
OSHIIP's purpose is to provide Ohio Medicare beneficiaries, and those who help them, with free, objective health insurance information and other helpful services. This assistance is available through a statewide toll-free phone number, local volunteers and sites, a speakers bureau, and free literature. All OSHIIP services are FREE. The program is funded by a Federal grant and the State of Ohio, and administered by the Department of Insurance. OSHIIP also provides a number of free publications from Ohio and the U.S. government. Volunteer opportunities are available to all willing to help.
Provides seniors with information and assistance in filling out forms which may be difficult to understand and complete correctly. Also assists Medicare recipients to understand and register for Part D (prescription plans).
