Understanding the impacts of individual pharmacological work-ups is an important component in patient care, and our team develops tailored medicine treatment plans to further aid in ensuring successful long-term outcomes in SUD treatment therapy.

Offers an Anticoagulation Clinic to veterans to assist with management of Warfarin, Dabigatran, Rivaroxaban, or Apixaban. Also provides a Diabetes Control Clinic that is offered by phone or face-to-face. Helps veterans with diet needs and gives lifestyle counseling. Will assist with medication management to improve glucose levels.
Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) combines behavioral therapy and counseling, case management and FDA-approved medications including Suboxone, Vivitrol, Sublocade etc. to treat substance use disorders. MAT utilizes a multitude of different medication options that can be tailored to fit the unique needs of the individual. MAT is most commonly used to treat alcohol and opioid use disorders. It reduces cravings, prevents withdrawal and helps normalize brain function. This program is operated in collaboration with the Knox Community Hospital and Foster’s Pharmacy.

Provides medication evaluation and monitoring for adults with severe mental disorders or youth with serious emotional disturbances.
Provides knowledge and skills to help clients manage their diabetes. Offers one-on-one counseling with a clinical pharmacist or pharmacy intern/resident for medication therapy management or disease state management. Incldues a comprehensive review of a patient's medications. The pharmacist will consider cost, effectiveness, safety, medical need and adherence for each medication. Recommendations for medication changes will be discussed with the primary care provider. Patients will receive education about their medications, including reasons for taking the medications, how to take the medication, possible side effects and monitoring for effectiveness and safety.

Tele-counseling with a certified nurse practitioner specializing in psychiatry, is available. Other services include mental health screening, individual counseling for depression, anxiety, substance abuse, addiction and other behavioral issues.

Psychiatric team provides Pharmacologic Management services. Complete Psychiatric Evaluations are done to determine if the client has any biological abnormalities causing symptoms of a mental health disorder, which may require psychiatric intervention. Once the need is determined, the psychiatric team may then provide medication management by prescribing and supervising psychiatric medication to clients on a face-to-face contact basis.
