Dental OPTIONS (Ohio Partnership To Improve Oral health through access to Needed Services) is a partnership between the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) and the Ohio Dental Association that began in 1997 to assist older adults and the "working poor" access dental care. OPTIONS is a vital program to help our older adults with disabilities and/or compromising medical conditions, as well as other uninsured low-income adults with limited financial resources get needed dental care. Patients are referred to safety nets and/or Medicaid first, when possible. If they still can't get dental care, then eligible patients are matched with volunteer dentists who treat the patients in their offices and have agreed to donate or discount the care.

Provides listings of medical (podiatry, primary care and more) providers who are willing to provide service to those who cannot leave their home.

Links clients with dentists or clinics where they can receive dental care for reduced fees. Dental care includes dentures, partials, root canals, wisdom teeth extraction and braces for children and teens. Does not provide preventative care, emergency care, cosmetic care (veneers, whitening), bridges, adult braces or implants. Clients may be placed on a waiting list, depending on the available number of volunteer dentists in their area.

Provides a searchable directory of the organization's member dentists. The directory can be searched by general practitioners and by specialty, such as oral surgery, orthodontia, pediatric dentistry, gum and bone disease, restoration and replacement of broken teeth, and root canal therapy. Dentists are not rated.
