The CSEA provides administrative and court opportunities to parents and children in determining the father/child relationship. Handles paternity establishment, genetic test schedules, genetic test facilities, administrative paternity decisions, interviews, paternity complaint filings and heirship complaint filings.

Provides the following services: to ensure that children are supported by their parents, to encourage family responsibility, to reduce the costs of welfare to taxpayers. The agency establishes paternity for a child born to unmarried parents, locates an absent parent responsible for support, enforces an existing court-order-required payment of support, modifies existing support orders, establishes an order for medical insurance coverage. Also obtains withholding orders if the obligor is employed, draws Unemployment Compensation or Worker's Compensation, or has funds available in a financial institution. Uses the Federal and State Offset Programs to collect past-due support, reports the amount of past due support owed by an obligor to a credit reporting agency.

Genetic Testing and Screening
Offers genetic/DNA testing to determine paternity. The father can start the process if he likes and the mother and child can be tested on a different day. All family members do not have to be seen at the same time. Genetic samples are stored for up to two years. In cases where the father is deceased, will direct the family to the proper testing agency (which may be different depending on the situation). Also makes available speakers on the subject of paternity establishment to schools and community groups.
Collects and disburses child support monies and court ordered alimony. Assists in enforcing court orders for child support and alimony whether in county, in state, or out of state. Assists in establishing paternities and/or support orders.

Paternity Acknowledgement is a legal document that lets unmarried parents name the natural father and establish paternity for the child. Both parents sign the affidavit, in the presence of a public notary and completing the form is voluntary. Only the natural parents should sign the affidavit.
