A 12-hour fasting period prior to testing is recommended to ensure accuracy of your testing. Cholesterol screening measures the following: - Total Cholesterol - HDL (good cholesterol) - LDL (bad cholesterol) - Triglycerides - ALT/AST (liver function) - Glucose. Our nursing staff will explain your test results and provide you with American Heart Association approved lists of foods to help bring your cholesterol numbers in line with current AMA recommendations. We will fax or mail your cholesterol results to your physician at your request. Comprehensive Metabolic Panel (CMP) testing measures the following: NA+, K+, CL-, CA - electrolytes or minerals that regulate cell function and internal water balance TCO2 - bicarbonate that keeps the blood from becoming too acidic or too basic GLU - glucose BUN / CRE - kidney function ALP, ALT / AST, TBIL - liver function ALB & TP - proteins in the blood, kidney and liver function Our nursing staff will explain your test results. The Health Center is a patient-centered medical home offering preventive and primary care to patients of all ages. Other clinical services include substance abuse treatment and counseling services.
