The goal of the Knox County Safety Council is to increase safety awareness. Qualifying companies may earn a rebate on their workers' compensation premium. Safety Council holds monthly meetings and speakers address issues of on-the-job safety. Topics discussed range from hearing conservation, OSHA 300 logs, first-aid, to fire safety and more. These informational topics are to inform, educate and examine possible solutions. This organization is open to any Knox County company, corporation and individual employer. Meetings are held monthly. Offers information on workplace hazards, illnesses, injuries, health disorders, safety, and prevention. Also lists specific information by occupation or workplace.

Meets monthly to discuss and provide education safety as it relates to any business in the community. Monthly meeting topics include OSHA-required employee training, reducing Worker's Comp rates, safety equipment demonstrations, and general safety awareness. Additionally schedules special seminars and safety presentations for local businesses.

An industrial medicine and safety service program. Provides diagnoses and treats acute occupational illnesses and injuries, drug testing, plan and implement wellness programs and manage Workers' Compensation cases among a variety of other services.

Set and enforce standards for safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women. Provide training, outreach, education and assistance.

Regulates and disseminates workplace safety education to employers and employees.

Provides qualifications to employees to establish a safer, more cost-effective workplace.

Provides a variety of safety training classes for businesses.The purpose of the program is to make all workplaces safe for employees and to aid in training employees to maintain a safe workplace; some of the course topics include First aid, CPR, Forklift, Defensive driving, OSHA 10 and 30 hours in General Industry and Construction, and Confined Space. Also presents breakfasts and luncheons with safety topics.Members receive an onsite inspection to check for safety violations and are given advice on correcting violations, findings are not reported to OSHA.

Butler Township Fire Department is responsible for providing services in the following areas of fire fighting: emergency medical (including paramedic level), technical rescue (trench, building collapse, high angle, etc.), hazardous materials, vehicle extrication, fire inspection, fire investigation, public safety education, and many other specialized services.
