Environmental health division providing: food and water inspections; nuisance complaints; rabies control; residential lead hazard investigation. Nursing and community health division providing: communicable disease follow-up; immunizations for children and adults; foreign travel immunizations; flu shots; case management for children with medical handicaps; community health assessment and education; tuberculosis clinic; preventative health services. WIC program provides supplemental nutrition support to women, infants and children under the age of 5.

Twelve session program for male and female parents who have been court ordered to attend parenting classes, for Job and Family Services clients who have parenting classes as part of their case plan, and for parents who want training to help them be a better parent.

Offers traffic, pedestrian, and bicycle safety for preschoolers who will be entering Kindergarten in the fall.

Provides fire protection and emergency rescue services. Offers fire prevention services including information, education, fire station tours, fire drill and escape plan development, and fire extinguisher classes. Makes available carbon monoxide testing, smoke detectors, and emergency beacon lights. Performs home evaluations, offers blood pressure screening, and CPR classes (non-certification only).

Provides a wide variety of personal enrichment activities. Division of Watercraft is responsible for boating safety, education, and law enforcement on all waters of the state. This statewide area includes the near-shore area along 451 miles of the Ohio River, approximately half the entire surface area of Lake Erie, more than 605 inland lakes, and over 60,000 miles of inland streams, rivers, and other waterways. The Division administers and enforces all laws regarding identification, numbering, titling, use, and operation of recreational boats on Ohio’s waters. It conducts water safety education programs and develops boating facilities on major water areas of the state.

Red Cross offers an array of community education including first aid/ CPR, AED, HIV/AIDS facts, Baby sitter training, blood borne pathogens, and sport safety training. May offer free smoke alarms as well as testing existing alarms and providing home fire preparedness training.

Provides professional development workshops for home and center-based childcare providers. Offers assistance to individuals and groups wanting to start childcare programs (center, home or after school programs), provides center accreditation, Child Development Associate, and Step Up to Quality support and training.

Children will learn the importance of memorizing their address and phone number, how to call 911, stranger danger, fire safety, bike safety, equipment that keeps youth safe, and more.

Provides an 8-hour defensive driving program, 2 point credit, suspended license, refresher course and insurance discounts.

Offers swimming lessons for all levels, group water fitness including specialized health-related programs, competitive swimming opportunities and lifeguard education courses.
