Offers the services of specialized volunteers trained in both Urban and Wilderness Search and Rescue. The volunteers assist local, county and state law enforcement in the locating, accessing, stabilizing and extrication/transport of lost, trapped or missing persons.

Uses a voucher system to provide the items to clients. Offered on an emergency basis, as approved by staff, to others.

Licenses day dare facilities and homes for children. Provides information about the licensing process and provides access to online training. The agency inspects, licenses, and sets the standards for child care centers, child day camps, and private homes caring for 7 or more children.

Provides information and education on general crime prevention, personal safety, and specific topics dealing with crime prevention and safety. Offers security evaluations and vacation security checks.

Provides prenatal and postnatal services utilizing an Earn While You Learn pregnancy and parenting education program. Baby items including cribs, car seats, diapers, clothing, etc are earned as lessons are completed. Group classes on safe sleep, preventing child sexual abuse, and shaken baby syndrome are also offered. Staff are certified as child passenger safety technicians and can check for proper installation of car seats.

Rsponsible for the control and extinction of fires in urban or wilderness areas; the inspection of buildings and hillside property to ensure potential fire hazards; and the maintenance of equipment and trained firefighters necessary for a quick and efficient response to fires when they occur. Also provides 24 hour emergency medical services. All firefighters are cross-trained as paramedics.

If your family has a WIC eligible income, your child can receive a child car seat from the Health Department for $10. (Your family does not have to be on WIC, they just need to meet the income guidelines - 185% of the poverty level). Parents need to attend a short class to receive the car seat. The London City Fire Department provides 24/7 fire services and prevention

Offers a boating and water safety class. Covers the fundamentals of safe boating: state-required equipment, watercraft laws, navigation Rules of the Road, basic safety and risk management, and aids to navigation. Boaters born on or after January 1st, 1982, MUST successfully complete either a boating course or a proficiency exam in order to operate a boat powered by more than 10 horsepower.

Provides fire and emergency medical services for Troy Township.

Responsible for taking calls for service, including emergency 911 calls for the public, other agencies, and dispatching the appropriate law enforcement, fire, or medical personnel.

May provide children's safety seats for eligible families as well as an educational session on proper use and installation of the child safety seat.

Provides simulated miniature towns with scaled down roads, crosswalks, commercial storefronts, traffic signs, traffic signals, railroad crossings and school buses that young children can visit and ride tricycles through to learn about safety. The program will take place at the Fairlawn Community Center at 3486 South Smith Road.
