Provides an emergency response team that offers coordination and technical assistance for hazardous material containment. Works in conjunction with the federal environmental protection agency to ensure investigation and cleanup of contaminated sites.
The goal of Washington County Local Emergency Planning Committee is to save lives and protect property by developing programs and procedures for emergency operation capabilities that mitigate the effects of, prepare for, respond to, and recover from planned or unplanned chemical releases. Provides an online form to report hazardous material/chemical spills. Committee meets 2nd Wednesday of every month at 2pm at 204 Davis Avenue - Suite C - Marietta.
