Investigates all reported animal bites in order to prevent human cases of rabies. Enforces quarantine and oversees laboratory examination of animals involved in reported biting incidents.

Protects and improves the health of the community through the use of public health nurses. Services include immunization clinics, screening programs, nutrition counseling (WIC), outreach, and health education and prevention programs for the community at large.

Consultation and referrals by staff to residents or organizations affected by head lice and provide information such as fact sheets and website links.

Provides the testing, diagnosis, and treatment of various sexually transmitted diseases (e .g. gonorrhea, syphilis, chlamydia, genital herpes, etc.).

Provides services that are directed toward IV drug users, crack users, and their sexual partners. Services provided through this program include: HIV and AIDS education, counseling, and testing; Hepatitis B testing; syphilis screenings; and blood pressure screenings. Every patient will also receive case management services.

Works to prevent disease, prolong life and promote good health. Provides public health nursing, health promotion programs, disease control, birth and death information, and environmental health services. Addresses current and changing public health concerns.
