Programs include: Plant Pride, Not Litter; Adopt-a-Street; It's Just Somebody Else's Mess; Neighborhood Clean Ups; Rid Your Gutter of Its Clutter; Litter Free Events; Partnerships with Businesses; and Special Clean up Programs.

Plants new trees, prunes and removes hazardous trees on city property. Maintains trees and landscaping in parks and other city property. Residents may request a tree be planted on the tree lawn in front of their house. Will manage storm damage cleanup when streets are blocked by storm debris.

Oversees various Divisions that deal with City infrastructure and public services; operates residential garbage collection program for Youngstown; remove dead animals on streets or at the curb.

Reviews and approves signs, lot splits and lot assemblies, maintains a tree commission, encourages and maintains flower gardens in public settings and requires landscaping for all new development within the city.

Provides a variety of gardening activities and opportunities designed to keep the neighborhood clean and to keep park gardens well-tended. Activities include a sale of plants, regularly scheduled park clean-ups and garden maintenance in Lincoln Park, and periodic lectures and information on topics of interest to local gardeners.

Offers civic-minded volunteers an opportunity to adopt a public parcel of land in Akron to clean during the annual Clean Up Akron Month in April. Provides free supplies and waste disposal.
