Conducts and makes available county-wide soil surveys which may be of use to potential property buyers who need information on potential pollutant and/or water table information and to landowners when looking to site a building or before entering a lease for oil and gas drilling. Provides Watershed Coordinators who work in specific watershed areas to evaluate problems and then implement action plans to improve the watershed by working with all stakeholders of the watershed area. Additional information may also be provided regarding soil types, soil health and soil assessment.

Survival Kit contains a sheet for the Pack N Play, a sleep sack for the infant, a bedtime storybook and educational materials for the parents. Family must come to Board of Health office to pick up Pack N Play and receive instruction on proper assembly and use before taking Pack N Play home.

Provides water and wastewater services for the City of Mount Vernon. Special services available:

• Pool credits are offered if you have a swimming pool in your yard, we will allow a one time per year credit on the wastewater portion of your bill for all usage over your average. Pool water must not be drained into the sanitary sewer to receive this credit. We will also be surveying consumers with pools to make sure they have installed proper backflow devices. We recommend that hose bibb vacuum breakers be placed on all threaded spigots. (These may be purchased at your local hardware store). Installment of these devices will now be a requirement for you to receive your pool credit. Please stop by our office and complete a pool credit form.
• Freeze credits are available in the wintertime, to keep lines from freezing back into the meters we allow freeze credits. If you wish to allow your water to run in a small thin stream, we will credit your water/wastewater billings back to your average. Maximum amount of credit allowed for freezing is for 900 cubic foot per unit. Please notify us in writing if you wish to exercise this option.

Operates as a regional wastewater treatment agency that transports and treats wastewater in the Greater Cleveland area. Regulates storm and sanitary collection facilities, operates three waste water treatment plants, and maintains major sewer intercepts within the larger sewer system. Monitors the water quality at area beaches and posts the results for the public on the agency website and through signage at beaches. Accepts complaints about illegal dumping into the sewer system and odors coming from the sewers. Responsible for the development and implementation of a regional storm and flood control plan. In case of basement flooding, will send an inspector to the site to determine if blockage or break is in the main sewer line (for example, the storm sewer in the street) or on private property (from the curb to the house). Can only address issues with Sewer District owned sewer line. The sewer line from the curb to the house is the homeowners' responsibility.
