Watershed Conservation | Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District

Provides for the management and protection of lakes, rivers, streams, aquifers and their surrounding watersheds while addressing problems such as poorly functioning storm drains, degraded habitat, illegal sewer hookups, leaking pipes, erosion, dumping, and limited or lack of access to the river itself for fishing, swimming, canoeing or other recreational activities.

Emergency Response - Spills, Emissions, Environmental Crimes | Ohio Environmental Protection Agency

Handles reports of environmental emergencies involving the releases of oil, hazardous chemicals, or radioactive materials into the air, land or water. Examples may include chemical spills on highways and in waterways as well as toxic emissions from industry or other environmental crimes/violations. Provides an emergency response team that offers coordination and technical assistance for hazardous material containment. Works in conjunction with the federal environmental protection agency to ensure investigation and cleanup of contaminated sites.

Wastewater Regulation/Monitoring | City Of Newark Division Of Public Service

The Division of Wastewater is responsible for treating and returning environmentally clean, safe water back to the Licking River. Additionally, the Division is responsible for maintaining the collection system, which consists of approximately 238 miles of sanitary and combined sewers, 17 lift stations and over 5000 manhole structures. The Division is also responsible for monitoring discharges into the system from industrial and commercial users for compliance with federal regulations as well as local ordinances.
