COTC will award up to $2,000 toward tuition and fees for the completion of an approved certificate to students with demonstrated financial need. Each certificate can be completed in as little as one or two semesters for quick entry in the workforce. Enrolls students in grades K-12.

Provides an opportunity for youth to complete their homework with help from volunteers. Will offer assistance with reading, math, science, social studies,as well as special school assignments. Focuses on literacy issues. Service is homework help. Also offers educational activities and games and personal computer and Internet access. Computers are available in the center for use by the students. Note: many of the branches that do not provide a "Homework Center" will have a "Homework Mentor" that can provide assistance with homework, but do not provide one-on-one assistance or tutoring.

Provides academic counseling, college planning assistance, intelligence testing, and career counseling. Works with youth and families by providing general counseling and social work services, including referrals to needed social services.

Service includes classes in basic reading and math, classes that refine skills to take the GED test (the equivalent of a high school diploma), computer skills classes, and a program to help refresh the skills of those aiming for higher education after experiencing a gap in their schooling.

Offers various mentor programs including Community-Based Programs and School/Site-Based Programs. - Community-Based Programs include Big Couples, Mentoring Children of Prisoners, Mentoring Children of Military Families, and Bigs in Blue. - School/Site-Based Program include Lunch Buddies, High School Bigs, and Sports Buddies programs. - Additional programming includes Pathways to Success - tutoring, mentoring and family engagement programming and Big Futures - workforce and college readiness program for high school students.

Provides training to learn new job skills and to increase current job skill levels in a wide variety of professional employment areas. Provides background for testing for certification and professional licensure as well as continuing education credits where appropriate. Areas covered include: bank teller training, truck driver training, training and education for those in the construction trades, small business development, customer service, careers working with aging individuals, health care careers (State Tested Nursing Assistant-STNA- training), Spanish for health care professionals, social work certification, human resources, meeting/event planning, food service/hospitality, classes to prepare for standardized tests such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and other college entrance exams, police/fire/emergency training, and computer classes (including certification in advanced information technology).

Offers before- and after-school programs and summer day camps for school-aged students. Services include individual and group tutoring, computer labs, homework help, and various other enrichment activities.
