Governs the academic and other educational functions of Mansfield City Schools: Mansfield Senior High School, Mansfield Middle School, Malabar Intermediate School, Spanish Immersion School, Springmill STEM, John Sherman Elementary School and PreSchool, and Woodland Elementary School. Offers Adult Basic Education, General Equivalence Diploma (GED), Gifted Programs, SAFE Program, Career Technical Education Programs, and Literacy Education through the Adult and Community Education Program.

Oversees the state’s public education system, which includes public school districts, joint vocational school districts and charter schools. The department also monitors educational service centers, other regional education providers, early learning and childcare programs, and private schools.
