The CSEA provides payment options and enforcement services to parents so they can make/receive support payments with the regularity as specified in their orders. For those in default on their child support payments, actions taken may include credit bureau reporting, occupational and professional license revocation, Ohio driver's license revocation, garnishment state and federal tax refunds or bonuses, and the freezing and seizing of an obligor's assets held by a financial institution. The CSEA initiates prosecutions for nonpayment of support, both civil and criminal, in Franklin County and in other jurisdictions.

Evaluates requests for bankruptcy assistance where applicant seeks protection from creditors in the following instances: threat of garnishment or wrongful garnishment, utility shut offs; driver's license suspension, denial of public housing application; income from Social Security or other governmental benefit is being offset due to arrearage of more than $2,000 on federal mortgage.

Provides legal assistance which may include information, advice, or representation as well as online resources to help with the following issues: *Unemployment compensation *Wage garnishment *Wage theft *Tax problems *Nonprofit and for-profit incorporation
