Provides legal advocate services to assist individuals in navigating the court system, filing criminal charges and obtaining protection orders.

Addresses civil legal issues dealing with the family including domestic violence and obtaining civil protection orders, divorce (limited), child custody (limited), child support (limited) and spousal support (limited). Ability to provide services is often limited due to high volume of need.

Provides free legal assistance to victims of crime, including direct representation in the criminal justice system to uphold crime victims' rights. Does not perform civil work (i.e. divorce or child custody matters). Also provides informational and technical assistance to attorneys, victim service providers and legislators on crime victims' rights laws.

Provides support for victims of sexual violence which may include crisis intervention, emotional support, assistance with applications such as address protection, information on legal rights, navigating the medical and criminal justice systems, and accompaniment services.

Victims’ rights advocates provides support to assist in navigating the court and legal system. Services may include making referrals, emotional support, accompanying victims to court and legal appointments, and helping with filing claims such as protection orders, address protection, or victim compensation claims applications.

Assists victims of intimate partner violence as they access and maneuver through the legal system. Legal Advocates are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice.

Legal advocates provide support, information, and guidance to help survivors understand their rights and options. Advocates meet with victims in municipal court during the offender’s arraignment to explain their right to request a temporary protection order as part of the criminal case. If requested, the advocate continues to provide support throughout the legal process, including attending future court dates. Survivors are also informed about the option of pursuing a civil protection order through common pleas court and advocates assist in finding legal representation for this process.

Advocates are available every morning in the Miami County Municipal Court House to assist victims on the third floor, or they can be reached by calling during office hours.

Provides free civil legal assistance to low-income residents of Northeast Ohio.

Provides legal assistance for LGBTQ+ individuals. Cases may include: *Gender marker changes *Name changes *Family law (custody, divorce, child support) **They are unable to accept cases involving adoptions**

Provides trained clergy advocates to accompany victims of domestic violence to local court.

Trained advocates provide emotional support, information, and offer accompaniment in the following areas for all survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking. *Law Enforcement Accompaniment: may include information on victim rights, developing a safety plan, or accompaniment during police reports *Legal Accompaniment: may include information, support, and accompaniment for civil or legal actions such as divorce, protection orders, applying for legal fee assistance, and emergency custody *Medical Accompaniment: offers accompaniment to hospital examinations and follow-up appointments for individuals that wish to seek or require medical attention *Title IX Accompaniment: may include assistance and accompaniment for students wishing to file Title IX complaints or seeking educational accommodations *Workplace Accompaniment: may include assistance and accompaniment for individuals wishing to file workplace related complaints or protection orders

Provides assistance with filing Civil Protection Orders (CPO), crisis intervention, safety planning, and information and referral for survivors of domestic violence.

Provides a court advocate to assist victims of the crime of domestic violence navigating the court and legal system. Services may include assisting with protection order or victim compensation claims applications as well as answering questions about legal processes.

Offers legal advocacy for victims of sexual, domestic, or intimate partner violence. Assists with criminal and civil legal concerns.

Evaluates cases for possible assistance with civil protection order and where one of the following is true: - The applicant or minor child has experienced an incident of abuse within the last 60 days; - The abuser has threatened to kill or physically harm applicant or commit suicide within the last 60 days coupled with severe physical violence in the past year; - The abuser is subject to charges or protection order for offense of violence within the past 60 days or a CPO has been issued against abuser; - The abuser is incarcerated for offense of violence and has made new threats of abuse to applicant and incarceration will end in less than 12 months; - Juvenile court custody matter where unmarried biological mother is seeking custody or incident of abuse towards minor child was alleged but not substantiated, or applicant is concerned about complying with court-ordered custody or visitation due to COVID-19.

Provides supportive services to domestic violence victims or persons threatened with abuse.

Provides guidance navigating the justice system to individual victims of domestic violence, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, or stalking. Advocates are not attorneys. Services include information on the legal process, help filing civil protection orders, and accompaniment to court for victims with criminal complaints.

Orders investigations as part of divorce actions, custody evaluations, child visitation arrangements, marriage conciliations, and home studies upon request of the judge.

Provides agency advocates as available to respond at municipal courts to domestic violence victims, offering information and referrals.

Offers legal advocacy for victims of sexual, domestic, or intimate partner violence. Assists with criminal and civil legal concerns.

Assists survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and stalking. Services include the following: * Protection orders for sexual assault, stalking, and domestic violence * Custoday and visitation rights * Divorce * Issues concerning physical, mental, and financial abuse * Legal issues that hinder survivors independence from abuser Partners with community organizations to provide wraparound services.

Offers legal assistance to victims of domestic violence. Services include filing civil protection orders, divorce proceedings, custody proceedings and child support cases.
