Victim Witness Services | Greene County Prosecutor'S Office

Offers 24 hour response to hospital, police, and personal request for assistance in cases of felony crime with specialized services for sexual assault and child sexual abuse victims and homicide survivors. Provides short term crisis counseling for crime victims and witnesses regardless of intent to pursue criminal prosecution; personal advocacy and court escort during all stages of the police investigation and criminal justice process; case status notification for felony level prosecution pending in Greene County Common Pleas Court and Greene County Juvenile Court. Confidential referrals within a large resource network, to any appropriate medical, counseling, or social service agency. Also provides assistance to persons applying for financial reimbursement through the Ohio Victims of Crime Compensation Program.

Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy | Compass

Provide telephone crisis intervention services for people who are survivors of rape, incest and other forms of sexual assault. Volunteers meet survivors at the hospital and stay with the victim through the physical exam and the police report. Volunteers bring a kit for survivor, which includes clothes.

Assists individuals with seeking medical treatment, filing emergency protective orders, attending court hearings, and facilitating communication between survivors and law enforcement.

After experiencing interpersonal violence, you may wish to report to law enforcement authorities. SAOP can provide a trained advocate to accompany, support, and advocate for you during this process. Some individuals wish to take civil or criminal legal action after experiencing interpersonal violence. SAOP advocates can provide detailed information regarding these processes, offer accompaniment, and provide further support as the case proceeds.

Victim/Witness Division | Montgomery County Prosecutors Office

The Victim/Witness Division provides crisis intervention and supportive services to victims and witnesses of violent crime. Advocates provide specialized services to victims of sexual violence, domestic violence and survivors of homicide victims. Advocates respond to area emergency departments to provide crisis intervention and support to victims of sexual violence regardless of whether an offender is identified and/or prosecuted. Advocates work with families who have lost a loved one to a homicide and offer a monthly support group. Additionally, advocates are located at CARE House to provide services to child victims of physical and sexual abuse. Advocates are available to provide court advocacy and an explanation of the criminal justice process. Eligible victims are notified of and provided information and assistance concerning the Victim Compensation Program. Advocates also provide assistance to victims on post-conviction issues including parole hearings.

Support groups for sexual assault victims and non-offending caregivers of sexually abused children are available periodically. Safe At Home Address Confidentiality program applications completed for victims of domestic violence, stalking, sexual violence and human trafficking. Sexual Violence is our primary focus, but any victim of any crime is welcome to use our services.
