Services provided will include, but will not be limited to: court accompaniment and support, advocacy to victims of juvenile crimes, witness preparation, information regarding the progress of their case, aid in filing civil protection orders. Provides a survivors and homicide support group. A Speaker's Bureau is also available.

Advocates attend hearings for victims of crime. Advocates relay the alleged victim's wishes/concerns/hopes for the criminal case to the prosecutor. Advocates ensure victims know their rights and keep them updated on criminal proceedings. Advocates also assist in restitution and compensation claims related to a criminal case.

After experiencing interpersonal violence, you may wish to report to law enforcement authorities. SAOP can provide a trained advocate to accompany, support, and advocate for you during this process. Some individuals wish to take civil or criminal legal action after experiencing interpersonal violence. SAOP advocates can provide detailed information regarding these processes, offer accompaniment, and provide further support as the case proceeds.

Provides crime victim support, case management services, and counseling to victims of human trafficking. Will refer clients to appropriate community services as needed. Will provide rides and accompany the client to legal meetings and proceedings as well as medical appointments, etc. Provides counseling to victims of human trafficking and will refer the client to outside service if psychiatric services are needed.

Responsible for the prosecution of all adult and juvenile felony crimes committed in Richland County. Civil division is responsible for all county civil litigation and the collection of delinquent real estate taxes. Includes a specialized Victim Services division that helps all felony crime victims navigate through the judicial system. Also responsible for assisting felony victims of crime with compensation for losses, notice of court hearings, referrals to services and counseling, attendance in court to represent their interests and protect their rights.
