Investigative Department - Fraud Reporting | Muskingum County Job And Family Services

Contact an investigator when you suspect someone is abusing the use of public assistance. Callers do NOT have to give their names and have anonymity when reporting public assistance fraud/abuse. Investigators encourage the public to report any suspected abuse of public assistance which can include the following unreported situations: - Employment - Living Arrangments - Recipients of Social Security, Unemployment, Workers Comp - Insurance Settlements - Ownership of real estate, rental properties, vehicles, campers, boats, etc. - Absent parents living in the home - Children leaving home.

Accepts reports of suspected welfare fraud regarding services provided by this agency such as: Ohio Works First (OWF), Food Stamps/SNAP, Medicaid, Childcare Assistance, and/or Prevention, Retention, Contingency (PRC). Can provide assistance and guidance in regard to identity theft for those who suspect that another person is fraudulently using their benefits (for example, stealing their SNAP benefits). Will also accept reports of other fraudulent activity such as lying on an application, selling benefits for cash, or retailer lying on an application to rejoin the SNAP program after being disqualified. Tips may be anonymous if the caller wishes.

Medicaid Fraud Reporting | State Of Ohio - Government Offices

Battles fraud in the health care industry through the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit and the Workers' Compensation Fraud Unit. The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit is responsible for the investigation and prosecution of health care providers accused of defrauding the state's Medicaid program. In addition, this Unit also enforces Ohio's Patient Abuse and Neglect Law, which protects the mentally and physically disabled and the elderly from neglect and abuse in Ohio's long-term care facilities. The Workers' Compensation Fraud Unit is responsible for prosecuting claimants, employers and health care providers who defraud the Ohio Workers' Compensation Program.

Empowers older adults to prevent healthcare fraud. Helps seniors become astute health care consumers by learning to identify and prevent Medicare fraud, waste and abuse. Works with consumers who suspect Medicare fraud and Medicare ID theft. Provides educational seminars to groups of all sizes. Available online or in-person. SMP also provides tips on how to report suspected fraud and offers a free smartphone app to receive notifications of scams.
