Provides an evidence-based effective tobacco, alcohol, drug abuse and violence prevention program in Richland County. Training promotes healthy alternatives to risky behavior through activities that: teach students the necessary skills to resist peer pressure to smoke, drink and use drugs; help students develop greater self-esteem and self-confidence; enable students to effectively cope with anxiety; increase knowledge of immediate consequences; enhance cognitive and behavioral competency to reduce and prevent a variety of health risk behaviors.

Annual project where students in Montgomery County enter a poster and writing contest. They choose from a variety of topics and either write about how violence has affected them or how it could be prevented in their community or draw a poster. Every child who enters receives a gift and the top prize winners go to a luncheon and many get their entries printed in our annual calendar.

Places gang violence intervention specialists in South and East side neighborhoods where 14-24 year-olds stand at high risk of gang involvement. Specialists constructively mediate conflict and mentor and connect youth to positive opportunities. Aims to reduce crime and gang-related violence; keeps youth safe and on-track to healthy, productive lives; encourages youth involvement in work readiness activities, academics or recreation; responds realistically and holistically to the lure of gang life.
