Goal is to increase the abuser's ability to use healthy skills in relationships or conflict situations. Anger management is a component of this program. Provides confidential counseling with a mental health professional for victims of domestic violence. Offers counseling for children who have witnessed or experienced some type of abuse or violence. Provides family therapy and parent education focused on helping the household to recover from past abuse, violence, or other traumatic events. Seeks also to prevent abuse within families who may be at risk due to a variety of stressors including: large family size, teenage single parenting, financial problems, drug problems, special needs children, etc. Teaches how to deal with child and parent anger issues, to handle conflicts and manage stress, to recognize cues from children and address their needs, to administer reward and punishment, and to build better communication among family members.

Sends out printed information about child protective services, and makes available management staff to give presentations to schools, community groups and professional organizations about all aspects of child protective services.
