Operates the following services that are countywide; dispatch, road patrol, and jail.
Dispatches sheriff's deputies within Greene County to the scene of a crime in progress or a police emergency incident. Dispatches deputies to the scene of incidents where citizens need non-emergency assistance. Investigates crimes and reports of missing persons, fingerprints arrestees, and investigates incidents of alleged police misconduct.

Provides County Sheriff's office services.
Provides law enforcement for Richland County in several different Bureaus/Sections. The Uniform Bureau is responsible for enforcing the criminal and traffic laws of the State of Ohio. Allied Special Operation Response Team (ASORT), being a highly-trained group of officers from different departments in Richland County, works as a team to neutralize a threat (hostage/barricaded subjects, raids, rescues, hazardous search warrants, security for dignitaries, suicides, stakeouts, etc.). The Major Crimes Section follows up on potentially long term felony investigations. There is also a K-9 Unit, Dive Team, Mounted Unit and Specials Unit. Winter Storm Advisories are declared by the Sheriff's office.
Provides the chief elected law enforcement officer for Geauga County.
Provides law enforcement and safety services to unincorporated areas of Franklin County. Runs DARE program, educates on crime and narcotic prevention. Maintains Franklin County Corrections facility. Runs background checks and provides fingerprinting services.
