Provides supervision and investigation of criminal offenders placed on probation through the United States District Court - Northern District of Ohio, Eastern Division.
Supervises adults on probation who have been referred by the Clark County Common Pleas Court. Probation is a process utilized by the court to attempt a rehabilitation of selected offenders through supervision and treatment within the community in lieu of being sentenced to the Ohio State Penitentiary,
The Probation Department acts as the matrix for the Municipal Court, relative to sentencing. It is an integral part of the Community-Based Correction Program for the Court and with the Probation Department goals, the Court can be satisfied and the community can be served in the best fashion. The major goals of the Adult Probation Department are: The protection of the community and the rehabilitation of the offender.
Offers a variety of services to children under the court's jurisdiction. These include probation supervision and counseling, foster care placement, referrals for drug treatment, alternatives to school suspension, unofficial cases, and community service work for restitution.

Correctional Treatment Centers
Oversees all persons placed on probation under the jurisdiction of the Bedford Municipal Court as the result of criminal charges. Monitors compliance with the sentence imposed by the Judge.
Provides alternative sentencing options for people convicted of misdemeanors and/or ordinance violations within Cleveland Heights at the discretion of the judge. Supervises adult probation and restitution orders.
Provides an opportunity for the offender to give back to the community, learn new skills, meet new people, and learn teamwork by working for agencies throughout Richland County. The offender's charges, skills, geographic location and work schedule are taken into consideration when he/she meets with the Social Service Liaison to be placed at a non-profit or government agency for community work service. Offenders are required to follow specific rules and regulations outlined in the assignment packet. The Social Service Liaison, along with the offender's supervision officer, will monitor an offender's compliance through regular contact with the placement agency. These contacts will include face-to-face visits with the offender at the work site.

The Court's Probation Department works with youth and their families to make sure they are in compliance with all court orders. Juveniles personally sign documentation outlining probation rules; are subject to drug screenings; and are required to make mandated evening office visits the first Tuesday of every month accompanied by their legal guardian for a probation review. In addition, probation officers often check in with youth at school and/or at home.
The purpose is to restore the offending youth to community living and reduce juvenile offenses through supervision, support and alternative consequences to offenders who have been adjudicated or found unruly/delinquent.
