Provides formal supervision and support for young men and women who have been found delinquent of an offense and released into the community under the supervision of a probation officer. The individual must agree to standards of conduct specified by the court for a set amount of time. Violations of the agreement can subject the individual to additional sanctions.

Provides formal supervision for those awaiting trial or on community control (probation) as ordered by the court. Supervises probationers and monitors compliance to the conditions of their probation as well as providing other services such as referrals for social services. Specialized probation services provided for those needing intensive supervision such as those who are mentally disordered offenders, mentally retarded offenders, and sex offenders.
