Juvenile Mental Health Court | Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court - Juvenile Division

Handles cases dealing with juvenile offenders who have a severe mental illness. Provides assessment and links individual to appropriate treatment. Case managers work with the individual, school, home, and treatment provider. Open hearings are held weekly to assess individual cases and hearings become less frequent with compliance to the program's rules. After completion of the program, charges are dropped from youth's record.

Provides formal supervision for those awaiting trial or on community control (probation) as ordered by the court. Supervises probationers and monitors compliance to the conditions of their probation as well as providing other services such as referrals for social services. Specialized probation services provided for those needing intensive supervision such as those who are mentally disordered offenders, mentally retarded offenders, and sex offenders. Places offenders into drug treatment when needed. Provides case management for those in drug treatment and acts as a liaison between the court, client, and treatment facility. Also supervises persons in the work release and home detention programs.
