In some cases, may provide assistance with paying for transportation to eligible individuals (payment would go directly to a service provider that the agency contracts with).

PRC funds may pay for gasoline in order to assist the family with attaining/maintaining self-sufficiency. The gasoline must be needed for getting to and from a job or job training.

The Gallia County Department of Job and Family Services provides Non-Emergency Transportation through a private contractor and by the client’s private vehicle through the gas voucher program. NET provides transportation to medically necessary appointments, such as renal dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation, as well as routine doctor appointments. Transportation must be for non-emergencies and to a Medicaid provider. This service is available to individuals who are not covered under a managed care plan or when a managed care plan is unable to arrange transportation.

Operates four (4) fixed bus routes that primarily serve the Ohio communities in Belmont and Jefferson Counties of Bellaire, Bridgeport, Brookside, Martins Ferry, Rayland, Shadyside, Tiltonsville, Yorkville and the communities located along the Blaine route west of Brookside (such as Wolfhurst, Lansing and Blaine). The four (4) bus routes also cross the Ohio River to offer service to and from downtown Wheeling. Connects with Steel Valley Regional Transit Authority (SVRTA) in Rayland, OH six (6) times a day Monday through Friday and five (5) times on Saturdays. The four (4) fixed routes operated by the Eastern Ohio Regional Transit Authority (EORTA) are the Blaine/Ohio Valley Mall, Martins Ferry/Rayland, Martins Ferry/Yorkville, and Shadyside runs.

Offers assistance with local bus tickets and emergency food. Provides financial assistance to obtain driver's licenses and birth certificates. Note: Funds are limited and recipients must explain the specifics of their need.

Provides a new program to help assist their clients in obtaining documents and resources, if you are in need of help for birth certificates, driver's license, state ID's, social security cards, snap benefits, medical insurance, employment applications, and gas card for new job clients only.

Provides bus pass for individuals in need, when funding is available. * Passes are mailed out when ready or the individual is contacted by Goodwill if requesting pick-up in person.

TCC is responsible for planning and programming projects to maintain and improve transportation infrastructure such as roads, bridges, traffic signal systems, bikeways, and railroads. Offers transportation services like Springfield City Area Transit, WorkPlus, agency paratransit and ride share programs.

Buses are equipped with wheelchair lifts, and many features such as automatic voice annunciators that announce bus stops, times and major intersections buses offer a kneeling feature which allows the operator to lower the front door to curb height to assist passengers with boarding.

Provides Ohio travelers with up-to-date information on road conditions, traffic, construction, and other activity affecting roadways managed by The Ohio Department of Transportation. Information is updated frequently and comes from a variety of sources, such as pavement sensors and monitoring stations, traffic cameras, and through direct input by ODOT personnel. The information on the site is as current as possible, but Ohio travelers should also refer to local and regional information outlets and agencies for the latest information during weather/disaster emergencies.

Transportation can be requested by individuals over 60 years old for medical appointments, personal appointments and grocery trips Monday-Friday. Requests must be made at least two business days in advance. *Medicial Appointments: must be to a location in Fairfield County or within 20 miles of the agency *Personal Appointments: must be to a locatoin within 10 miles of the agency, may include hair and beauty appointment *Grocery Trips: rotating schedule between Walmart, Kroger, Meijer, and Aldi as well as the Community Food Pantry for Market Days. Provides assistance with transportation to food resources. Covers trips to food pantries and trips to pick up groceries from stores where members have placed an order. Program offers up to 5 round trip visits (10 one way trips) per member.

Provides aid to families in the form of a voucher to buy items or pay for services that are emergencies and non-recurring and which cannot be addressed using existing community resources. Assistance is provided only for items that are essential for the applicant's employment, job training, or education such as: car repairs, car payments, or car insurance payments; car down payment; work clothing and uniforms; and tools and safety equipment. Also will help pay for professional testing/certification and licensing fees, identification materials (i.e. driver's license, state identification, birth certificates), driver's education, and other items as deemed appropriate by the agency. Transportation to work provided through the most cost effective means. A budget will need to be completed and watching a one hour financial literacy video may be required.

Provides transportation services for Medicaid recipients for non-emergency medical transportation for miles traveled to a Medicaid covered service when the managed care plan provider cannot provide service.

Provides free public transportation on METRO DIRECT fixed-routes to students, faculty, and staff of The University of Akron. Offers a reduced fare on METRO's Northcoast Express route to and from Cleveland.

Provides direct transportation services within Athens County to medical appointments for Medicaid-eligible clients. For medical appointments outside of Athens County, we can refer you for transportation if you provide a statement from a local physician confirming that the necessary medical services are not available in Athens County. We can also reimburse clients for gas costs, using the federal mileage reimbursement rate for medical travel expenses. Clients may qualify for an incidental reimbursement of $15 for appointments over 51 miles and an appropriate referral from physician. Contact our Transportation Services unit for more information.

WIC program provides supplemental nutrition support to women, infants and children under the age of 5.
