The PRC Program is designed to provide benefits and services to needy families and low income employed families to help move out of poverty and become self-sufficient. PRC support is short term and is not intended to meet ongoing needs. If eligible for PRC benefits, a voucher is issued for the service and paid to then vendor providing the service. Voucher services available for car repairs, employment materials (tools/equipment, uniforms/footwear, professional licensure/testing fees), GED fee payment assistance, rent or mortgage payment assistance, and utility assistance (primary heat source, electric, water).

Prevention, Retention, and Contingency PRC is designed to assist families become self-sufficient or to maintain self-sufficiency during crisis, and MAY help with work tools and/or equipment as needed for work related purposes.

Provides emergency financial assistance to families who meet the eligibility requirements. Employment support includes clothing expenses up to $200 to obtain or retain employment (appropriate work clothes). Job-related expenses up to $500 for tools, safety equipment, short-term education expenses, and job support services. PRC total amount is $2,000.00.

Provides building inspections, code enforcement services, construction permits, garage sale permits, and a tool loan program.

Loans tools to residents for use in home repair or maintenance. Provides instruction in tool use and care. Available tools include drain snakes, lawn and garden equipment, ladders, power hand tools, household tools and miscellaneous hand tools. Tools must be returned in a timely fashion and in the condition that they were borrowed in. Participants become members of the tool-loan library for two years.

The Work-Related Assistance Program, WRAP, is able to assist with work related tools and/or work related equipment needs for those who qualify. Assistance is a on a case by case basis, if funds are available.

Provides tool lending program to nonprofits and charitable organizations with an inventory of tools for use in volunteer projects, special events, facility repairs, and grounds maintenance. Tools and equipment are not available to individuals.

Provides tools that members can use to repair, rehabilitate or maintain their personal property.

Provides services for youth. Information and resources, collaboration with teachers and others

Job and Family Services may have funding available through the PRC program to help clients obtain employment related needs and services such as equipment/tools, work clothes, shoes, gas, bus passes, etc. Assistance through the PRC program can be granted up to $2,000 in a 12-month period when funding allows. The PRC program is not a cash payment and not ongoing financial support.

Offers a tool lending program with over 500 tools including power tools, hand tools, plumbing tools, carpet tools, lawn and garden tools, electrical tools, and roofing tools. Educates individuals with the skills and resources to maintain their homes with do-it-yourself improvement projects.

PRC program was established in Ohio to help families overcome immediate barriers to achieving or maintaining self-sufficiency. The PRC Program is designed to: •Prevent families from having to apply for OWF cash assistance when a crisis arises; •Help families retain employment by enhancing job skills , overcoming barriers and providing short-term assistance or wage supplementation if necessary. •Provide for contingent needs by helping families with nonrecurring urgent problems that could, if left unattended, result in families needing long-term public assistance. •Support families receiving OWF with services to enable them to become self-sufficient. Examples of short-term assistance through PRC include: •Shelter and utility assistance •Transportation assistance •Employment Related Supportive Services
