The program provides benefits and services to families who are in need of help with essential support to become self-sufficient. The PRC Program is designed to: •Prevent families from having to apply for OWF cash assistance when a crisis arises; •Help families retain employment by enhancing job skills , overcoming barriers and providing short-term assistance or wage supplementation if necessary. •Provide for contingent needs by helping families with nonrecurring urgent problems that could, if left unattended, result in families needing long-term public assistance. •Support families receiving OWF with services to enable them to become self-sufficient. Examples of short-term assistance through PRC include: •Shelter and utility assistance •Transportation assistance •Employment Related Supportive Services

Provides emergency financial assistance to families who meet the eligibility requirements. Employment support includes clothing expenses up to $200 to obtain or retain employment (appropriate work clothes). Job-related expenses up to $500 for tools, safety equipment, short-term education expenses, and job support services. PRC total amount is $2,000.00.

Tool-lending library offers over 200 different types of hand and power tools to individuals and nonprofit organizations. Tools are loaned for for periods of 1 or 7 days, depending on the tool. Application for membership must be completed before borrowing tools.

Provides non-recurrent, short-term benefits that deal with a specific crisis situation or episode of need; not intended to meet recurrent or ongoing need; and will not extend beyond four months. Assists with gas, tools, uniforms and other items related to finding, securing or sustaining a job.

Provides a maximum of $500 (per 12 month period) in assistance with purchasing supplies for a new job (such as mechanics tools, beautician equipment, safety equipment, and so forth). Available tools include drain snakes, lawn and garden equipment, ladders, power hand tools, household tools and miscellaneous hand tools. Tools must be returned in a timely fashion and in the condition that they were borrowed in. Participants become members of the tool-loan library for two years.

Provides assistance to qualified individuals and families. Assistance available includes: - Auto Insurance - Liability up to four (4) months coverage. - Emergency Home Repairs - Not basic upkeep or maintenance. - Car Repair - Not regular maintenance. - Mortgage Payments - Up to four (4) months past due. - Driver's Education Classes. - Rent - Up to four (4) months past due OR Security Deposit plus first month's rent. - Employment Related Expenses. - Utilities - Up to four (4) months past due more than 30 days. - GED Incentive. - Emergency Hot Water Tank Repairs or Replacement. - Emergency Furnance Repairs or Replacement. - Emergency HVAC Repairs. - School Fees. - Pest Removal Services. - Property Taxes - ½ year delinquent or longer.
