Hosts repair events throughout the community for volunteers to provide repair services for household items, toys, and small appliances. Inspect all portable items (except those containing gasoline/petroleum) and repair if practical at no charge. The Toledo Repair Café does not do home-visits or keep an inventory of replacement parts for repairs. If the parts are available, bring them to appointment.

May also assist with the purchase or repair of major appliances ($750 maximum per calendar year). May assist with the purchase of bed frame, box springs, mattress, cribs and child beds ($500 maximum in 12 month period). Provides up to $2000 in moving expenses in certain cases (once per lifetime). In some cases may be able to help with home repair services (generally, only enough to cover a small repair). May consider assisting with other housing related needs at the discretion of the agency. Does not assist with PIPP Plus payments.

In the home, will repair or replace water tanks in addition to repairing plumbing fixtures such as leaking faucets, broken toilets (installation of water saver toilet in the event of non-repairable toilet). Also, repair/correction of frozen water lines and k-line replacements. When available, may install water conservation kit to help reduce water usage.

The Microfinance Program can provide affordable loans up to $2,000 so families can improve and maintain their homes and their quality of life without seeking out payday or high-interest predatory loans. Loans available for:
- Replacement of countertops, cabinets, flooring, doors, windows, etc.
- Repair (if manufactured within the last 15 years) or replacement of appliances
- Repair of porches, decks, roof, etc.
- Painting
- Upgrades for energy efficiency
- Accessibility projects (e.g., ramp).
- Vehicle Repair funds may be available if the automotive repair could be linked to staying housed (example: fix vehicle to get to work to pay for housing). Funds may be used to address “quality of life” issues for Southeast Ohio residents in order to maintain and sustain their current housing.

Summer: Assistance may be available for clients to help pay their cooling bill, obtain an air conditioner/fan, or repair an air conditioner.
*Runs July 1-September 30.
*Eligible households can receive up to $500 if they are a customer of a regulated utility or up to $800 if a customer of unregulated utilities.
Winter: Provides eligible Ohioans assistance with monthly heating payments (gas and/or electric) if heating source is disconnected or threatened with disconnection, need to establish a new connection, transfer fee payments, or have 25% or less bulk fuel or wood supply remaining. Assistance may also be available for fuel tank placement/testing and furnace repair. Provides assistance once per heating season.
*Runs November 1 to March 31.
*Eligible households can receive up to $175 if they are a customer of a regulated utility or up to $750 if a customer of unregulated utilities.
