Maintains 131 Units of Public Housing and 23 Units of Senior Housing.

The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) provides rental assistance to very low income families, allowing them the opportunity to live in decent, safe, and affordable housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority (KMHA) administers the HCVP Program in Knox County.

Provides housing for low- to moderate-income-eligible individuals and families. Housing is owned and operated by the Lucas Metropolitan Housing Authority.

Application for Housing Assistance can be made electronically or are available for printing on their website. Please apply online or print it and complete it in your own handwriting. Make sure all questions and sections are completed and anything that does not apply to you is marked “N/A”. Incomplete applications will not placed on the waiting list. The application can be completed on-line via the PMHA website. Applicants should make sure their address is correct on the online pre-application and if it isn't, contact PMHA to correct it. The application is in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer in order for the application to print properly. After submitting the application to PMHA, a letter with your application date will be sent to you. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THIS LETTER! It shows proof of activity on the waiting list.

Provides subsidized housing either through the Section 8 program or the public housing program.

Program provides public housing for low-income individuals, families and elderly. Administers Section 8 subsidized rental program to owners of approved rental units. Applicants are required to meet specific qualifications.

Administers subsidized rental program for low-income residents and provides assistance in the form of vouchers that allow income-eligible families to find and lease approved privately owned housing where the landlord has agreed to enter into a contract with the housing authority. Eligible applicants who are selected from the waiting list pay 30 to 40% of adjusted gross family income in rent and the subsidy makes up the balance of market rent. The subsidy moves with participants and it can be used in any unit in the private market which passes a Tuscarawas Metropolitan Housing Authority (TMHA) inspection, as long as participants remain eligible and the landlord agrees to participate in the program.
