The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCVP) provides rental assistance to very low income families, allowing them the opportunity to live in decent, safe, and affordable housing. HCV Programs are funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and administered by public housing agencies throughout the country. The Knox Metropolitan Housing Authority (KMHA) administers the HCVP Program in Knox County.

Application for Housing Assistance can be made electronically or are available for printing on their website. Please apply online or print it and complete it in your own handwriting. Make sure all questions and sections are completed and anything that does not apply to you is marked “N/A”. Incomplete applications will not placed on the waiting list. The application can be completed on-line via the PMHA website. Applicants should make sure their address is correct on the online pre-application and if it isn't, contact PMHA to correct it. The application is in PDF format. You must have Adobe Acrobat installed on your computer in order for the application to print properly. If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, go to the Adobe website to download and install it. This is a free download. Read instructions completely. After submitting the application to PMHA, a letter with your application date will be sent to you. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THIS LETTER! It shows proof of activity on the waiting list.
