Homeless Prevention: Funds to be used to keep Preble County individuals/families experiencing a housing crisis (homelessness) related to non-payment of rent and at risk of homeless should financial assistance not be given. This is short term temporary financial assistance. Documentation is required for this assistance (I.e. utility disconnect letters, eviction letters). All funds are paid directly to landlords, utility provider etc.

MAY BE USED FOR: 1. Establishing new household: Security deposit and/or one month rent ($750 maximum - once per calendar year). 2. Past due rent and staying in the same apartment: up to two months rent ($750 maximum - once per calendar year). In addition, applicant cannot exceed $1,500 in aid from the overall PRC program ($750 if non-custodial guardian). Does not assist with rental application fees.
Provides financial aid for rent assistance, telephone service payment assistance, utility assistance, license, registrations, birth certificates and limited medical expense assistance to those who qualify residing within 45140 zip code area.

The PRC Program is designed to provide benefits and services to needy families and low income employed families to help move out of poverty and become self-sufficient. PRC support is short term and is not intended to meet ongoing needs. If eligible for PRC benefits, a voucher is issued for the service and paid to then vendor providing the service. Voucher services available for car repairs, employment materials (tools/equipment, uniforms/footwear, professional licensure/testing fees), GED fee payment assistance, rent or mortgage payment assistance, and utility assistance (primary heat source, electric, water).

Assists veterans with little or no income in a variety of ways: provides food and clothing vouchers, which are only honored in Cuyahoga County, in emergency situations. In certain circumstances, provides assistance with paying for rent, rent deposit, mobile home lot rental fees, and utility payments (gas, electric, and water). Will help with transportation expenses (which is usually in the form of bus passes). Does not help with property taxes, car insurance, or car payments. Assists with up to $999 in burial expenses for indigent veterans.
