Coordination entity for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) in southern Ashtabula County, including Orwell, Rock Creek, and Andover. The SFSP provides free nutritious meals, for children through age 18, to help children get the nutrition they need throughout the summer months when they do not have access to meals at school. Faith based non-profit providing social development for children; skill classes, family assistance; tutoring/health services for children; Super Kids program providing Biblically based music, games, drama, videos, object lessons, etc.; Super Kids Thrive providing Bible character education program; Summer Day Camp program; Teen Leadership program for Middle-High School students providing skill building, Ready-4-Work program, mentoring, camp and community service opportunities; karate classes $10/month; Christmas and Easter outreach; Summer NOW Youngstown outreach. Provide family assistance: food boxes, clothing, shoes, housewares, diapers and hygiene items and monthly transportation to local market.

The department offers free lunch in the summer. Meals are served to anyone between the ages of 1–18. Meals are also available for anyone ages 18-21 who has been determined by a state or local public educational agency to be mentally or physically disabled and involved in an independent education program. Columbus Recreation and Parks Department offers Free Mobile Produce Markets throughout the year. Produce is loaded directly into trunk or car. Families in need can call 866-3-HUNGRY (Español: 877-8-HAMBRE) or text 914-342-7744 with a question that contains a keyword such as “food,” “summer,” “meals,” etc. and receive a text back that will show free meal sites closest to them.
Summer EBT provides grocery benefits to low-income families with school-aged children when schools are closed for the summer. Families will receive a one-time benefit of $120 for each eligible child and can use the money to buy food during the summer at grocery stores, farmers markets, and other authorized retailers.
