Services offered include: the Professional Development Center vocational school providing welding and machining program, STNA training and Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistance (CDCA) training; job readiness and placement assistance; GED tutoring; Working Toward the Future Program; GROW Urban Farm; nutritionally assisted alcohol and drug treatment with Spanish speaking available; Eagle's Nest Recovery House. Guidance available for those wishing to expunge criminal records.

Ohio State University Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Program provides intensive training in horticulture to interested Ohio residents, who then volunteer their time assisting with educational programs and activities for Ohio residents through their local OSU Extension county office. The Champaign County Master Gardener Association provides horticulture leadership and education through programs and activities within the community, while striving to develop, improve, and preserve the quality of our natural environment. Coordinates the Raising Richland Community Garden Network, an informal network of gardeners who meet regularly to share and discuss all things garden related. Are you interested in starting or expanding a community garden in Mansfield/Richland County. Join with your neighbors and apply for up to $300 grants to start or expand a community food garden. Offers gardening information, diagnosis of plant and insect problems, and information on soil testing. Clients may bring plant and soil samples for problem identification. Offers gardening workshops for beginner and advanced gardeners, covering subjects related to landscaping and design, lawn care and management, container gardening, etc.

Master Gardener volunteers answer gardening questions throughout the growing season (April - October). Volunteers provide educational material and programs on various gardening topics.

Maintains streets, signs and signals in the Mansfield City limits. Applies snow/ice control as necessary to maintain more than 600 lane miles of streets and alleys in the city limits. Clear brush out of alley right-of-ways, trim or remove dead, dying, deceased, or hazard trees on city right-of-ways. Plant trees at request of Shade Tree Commission. Make necessary asphalt patch repairs, crack seal streets, monitor street opening permits from Codes & Permits, patch Water and Sewer street openings. Maintains signs in city limits. Inventory, repair, replace, and install signs. Paint centerlines and skip lines on streets in city limits, also paint turn arrows, crosswalks, and school zones. Maintain traffic signals, annual signal inspection and relamping, downtown street light maintenance. City does not maintain residential street lights, that is Ohio Edison. Picks up dead animals in the city limits that are in the street, not on private property. Clean up debris in the street. Maintain State Routes in the city limits. Mow State Route fields and islands, in the city limits, city right-of-ways, road sides, and guard rails. Water and Sewer maintenance is in the same building.

Answers questions about gardening including topics related to trees and shrubs, lawns, flower gardens, vegetables and fruit or soil managment.

Master Gardener Volunteers provide such educational services to their communities as: answering gardening questions from the public; conducting plant clinics; gardening activities with children, senior citizens, or disabled persons; beautifying the community; and developing community or demonstration gardens.

The Ohio Herb Education Center provides diverse herbal education programs, events and products. The center is listed in the State of Ohio Division of Travel and Tourism's Discover Ohio In Bloom brochure and is a frequent destination for tours and the general public.

Provides a variety of gardening activities and opportunities designed to keep the neighborhood clean and to keep park gardens well-tended. Activities include a sale of plants, regularly scheduled park clean-ups and garden maintenance in Lincoln Park, and periodic lectures and information on topics of interest to local gardeners.
