Issues 10-day quarantine orders to the owners of dogs, cats, and ferrets involved in bites to determine if the animal was exposed to rabies prior to the biting incident with a follow-up veterinarian check and rabies vaccination, if applicable. Submits animal specimens to the Ohio Department of Health Laboratory in Columbus for rabies testing.
