Eligibility

Open to vehicle owners who:

  • currently reside in Kenton County and have purchased a vehicle outside the state of Kentucky, or
  • will be residing in Kenton County and will be bringing a vehicle from outside the state of Kentucky

Application process
Walk-ins accepted.
Fees

$15 per vehicle inspected at a Sheriff's Office location. An additional $5 fee is charged for inspections conducted at a home or business, totaling $20 per vehicle.

Service area
Kenton County, Kentucky
Provides inspection of vehicles to determine compliance with state law regarding safe condition for operation upon the roadway. Upon passing inspection, vehicle owner will be provided a completed Kentucky Application for Certificate of Title/Registration Form which may be taken to the County Clerk to obtain a Kentucky license plate.
