Medicaid Health Insurance - Aged Out Of Foster Care | Lucas County Job And Family Services

Provides public insurance to cover medical services that may include doctor visits, some prescription drugs, hospital care, home care, long-term care, medical equipment, transportation, mental health, vision, dental, substance abuse services and other services. Most clients will have to choose and enroll in (will have their care provided by) a Managed Care Plan (MCP).

Eligibility

Serves those age 18 through 26 who have aged out of foster care and who reside in Lucas County. Those who age out of foster care will be covered through age 26 and are eligible to start coverage at any point before age 26. There are no income or asset requirements for this group. Those who aged out of foster care in other states, and who meet these guidelines are eligible for coverage as part of this group. Those who left foster care before aging out are not eligible for coverage as part of this group - but may be eligible as a different eligibility group.
