Eligibility

Parents, who have children enrolled in grades K-8 (eligible distances vary, depending on what grade the child is in) in public and non-public schools in Ohio, who reside further than the state minimum distance from the school their child(ren) are enrolled in, and who transport their child(ren) because the school district has determined that it is impractical to transport the child(ren) due to certain constraints. Parents with children enrolled in Community Schools (Charter Schools) and non-public schools are eligible only if the travel time of a school bus that would serve the non-public school is 30 minutes or less. Parents may check with the school district they reside in to confirm whether or not their non-public school is less than 30 minutes by school bus from the public school their child would attend and whether or not district buses would transport to a school that meets eligibility by distance even if it is outside the district boundaries. Funds are available annually.
