- The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $69,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. - The Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program offers free tax help for all taxpayers, particularly those who are 60 years of age and older, specializing in questions about pensions and retirement-related issues unique to seniors. Will Not Prepare: - Schedule C with losses. - Complicated Schedule D (capital gains and losses). - Form SS-5 (request for Social Security Number). - Form 8606 (non-deductible IRA). - Form 8615 (minor’s investment income). - Form SS-8 (determination of worker status for purposes of federal employment taxes and income tax withholding). - Parts 4 and 5 of Form 8962 (Premium Tax Credits).
Must provide all documentation required for the type of tax filing.
